Hey girls! Another question… My op is in 6 days and I just wanted to know what pain relief people used to help ease the pain after the operation. Any recommendations for reducing swelling and bruising? Any suggestions would be amazing! Thanks! xxx

My ops not till next month but ive read arnica 30 tablets to help with bruising and swelling, ice packs, ibruprofen (though im asking for naproxen as ive found that better anti inflammatory than ibrupfrofen) co codamol 30/500 are a good pain relief if u can get a prescription for it but u can buy a lower strength from tesco chemist, paracetamol as well xx and keep topped up xx

They do give you pain killers although I had to come off everything they gave me as I had a really bad reaction, just stuck to paracetamol & ice packs, didn’t really need it though, pain wasn’t half as bad as I thought, good luck 🙂

Yeah you get given what you need when your discharged. Depending on the surgeon depends if you get cocodomol or not. Ice packs are the best pain relief in my opinion. Ive took arnica tablets too and dont have any bruising at all. I was only given paracetemol and ibruprofen and that was enough for me and i stopped taking them after 5 days xx

Ice packs will be your bestfriend!!!

I had my operation on Thursday and ended up being being admitted back to fitzroy saturday as I was in so much pain, after being on meptid (a pain relief given during labour) and muscle relaxers to ease the pain when getting up and sitting up I still found that ice packs worked the best as the numbed the boob completely!

Rest up well and make sure you do not use your arms or chest to sit up… use your abs and create a fortress of pillows for comfort xx

I had mine done last Tuesday & I don’t know wether I’ve just been pure lucky but I’ve not suffered or needed pain relief. Abit of swelling on my chest at the top of the implants was sorted by ice packs for the first day. But also, keep moving. The more you rest the worse the stiffness and achy ness seemed to get xx
