Painkillers

I want to stock up on pain meds from now as my BA is a week away, what did everyone take?
Did you even need to take anything extra? Or was what the hospital gave you enough?
Also do i need to take an victims or supplements to speed up recovery / reduce swelling Etc

They give you a weeks worth of cocodamol, you can’t take anything else with paracetamol in them with them x

I was given antibiotics, diclofenac for the swelling and just paracetamol and I was fine. I expected to be drugged up lol x

I found the co-codamol did nothing but i do have a high thresehold for medication due to being on painkillers for a long time, i took paracetamol, ibuprofen and codiene for the first week then just ibuprofen and the odd codiene when i needed it. I statred taking arnica after my surgery for swelling and bruising and i’ve had next to no bruising at all just a little round my wounds x

I didnt take anything hun, it was painful but i hate taking meds or feeling ‘off my head’ lol see how you go but most are fine with paracetamol x

Hey Hun, The hospital gave me antibiotics, ibuprofen and co-codomal. I had my op on Sunday and stopped taking the co-codomal by the Wednesday as didnt feel like I needed it anymore. Finished the weeks worth of antibiotics and ibuprofen that they gave me but only because they told me to rather than because I felt I needed it and literally didnt take anything else and haven’t since. Am almost 3 weeks po and been fine!

The arnica might be a good idea though – had a really dark black bruise on one side from the drain which still hasn’t gone 3 weeks later!!
