Painkillers advice

Ok so I’m 3 days post op today and apart from a stuff/tight/numb feeling on my whole chest area I’m pretty much pain free. I have a very high pain threshold for whatever reason so haven’t been too bad at all so far but I’m wondering how long I have to keep taking the painkillers for? I think I should probably keep taking them just in case but as they’re co-codamol I’m pretty sure they’re making me even more bloated and I’m putting on weight rapidly! I’m also pretty swollen under my armpits so I was wondering g if it would be better to take something like ibuprofen but don’t know what’s allowed! ?

Sounds like you’re listening to your body hun, you don’t have to take the cocodamol if you don’t need it, from day 4 I just took either ibuprofen or paracetamol but just made sure I didn’t take more than 8 in 24hrs, happy healing hun xx

I’m not sure about ibuprofen maybe ring the nurse and ask. I just took paracetamols from day 1 hun and I was fine stopped taking them on day 3 xx

I’m on day 3 aswell hun, and the co codamol have made me really ill so the nurse told me to not take them and take ibuprofen and paracetamol so you should be fine.

hi, co codamol made me quite blocked up too, made me feel dizzy, i was fine on paracetamol and ibuprofen after a few days xx
