Has anyone else’s parents been difficult with the whole cosmetic surgery thing? I’ve started the process for a BA/uplift, and my mum is sooo against implants, as i’m 20 (will be 21 when having it done) I don’t feel the need to get my parents approval or permission, but I live at home so sneaking off would be hard!

Would be really grateful for some advice girls 🙂 xx

I live with my auntie and she was against it at first, well she still thinks am daft for spending so much money on the op but in the end she actually helped me pay for it. She also used to say what if something goes wrong but a BA is done soo often these days and although people are unhappy with results sometimes its not that likely that ur going to die or something if you know what i mean? she used to say to me alllllll the time u might die on the table.. But i didnt budge from my decision..
I think she thought it was a faise i was going through but once i mentioned getting them on finance etc she decided she would help me instead. Hope you sort it out!
P.S i am only just 20 and i agree your now an adult you dont need their approval! but I wouldnt reccomend sneaking off for it. x

I was the same chick we had screaming matches and everything! My mam said the same what if there were problems, complications etc etc and she didn’t want me to do it wanting me to put it off etc but I didn’t budge and now I’m getting it on Tuesday! She’s still a bit weary but a lot more positive about it and planning on helping me recover and she’s bought me a v pillow! It’s only because your there child and they see you as perfect anyways! Keep your head up you’ll be fine! 🙂

    Hi Amy!
my mum is against it as she’s concerned about implants masking breast cancer? Sounds pretty extreme to me and tbh there’s better technology now for that sort of thing! She just wants me to have the uplift rather than BA/Uplift, It’s really difficult as it’s my happiness at the end of the day 🙁 and i feel like she’s trying to make decisions for me! xx

Well your surgeon will suggest if you need a BA/Uplift. But i’ve read uplift is a longer/harder procedure- not too sure though as havent had one. Also if your worried about breast cancer your surgeon might suggest having implants under the muscle i beleive they mammogram better but i dont think there will be much difference.
Also just stick to your guns! Your doing it for you at the end of the day ! x

I had my nose and boobs done before I was 21 and no one agreed with it because ‘I was young’ but at the end of the day its YOUR body and YOUR future this is going to make you happier and more confident and once your mum sees that she will be happy, my mum supported me with my nose as my nose was awful and she understood but with my boobs she was totally against it but the hardest thing was my boyfriend as he didn’t agree with neither so I did feel alone but once he saw me after the op how happy I was he was happy! altogether it is a very emotional thing to go through so I would suggest telling her how it will make you feel after and how your feeling now (before the op) yes there are risks but your willing to go through with it and leave it as that don’t mention it again till after your op xxx

Once you have it booked your nurse will give you a leaflet and enclosed is a section on breast cancer. It clearly states that UK breast cancer awareness have clearly stated that breast impants do not cause of hide any breast cancer whether they are overs or unders so dont worry x

Thank you everyone 🙂 i’m booked in for a surgeon consultation soon, so i’m going to invite her along so she can be reassured, it’s just frustrating as in her eyes i’m her child, but really i’m an adult? xx

my mum was very set against it when i first told her, i later found out she thought i was going to look like one of the cast of Towie.
I did all my research and explained everything to her and once i’d had the surgery she realised i was in proportion and didn’t look fake!xx
