piercings

i know i can ask this at my consultation on tuesday but i’ve got another piercing for my ear booked for after work tomorrow and i don’t want to waste my time having it done if i have to take them out and then it heals! can you wear plastic retainer bars in your ears for surgery? got quite a few on my ears and don’t fancy them healing :p

I didn’t have to ale any piercings out thy said they would put tape over them but wen I woke up they hadn’t ( just belly button and nipple) I had rhino and thy said the stuff they was using wouldn’t be affected by my piercings so depends on the hospital and equipment they are using I think xx

Hi Amy, I was told to take all my piercings out! Although 2 in my ears refused to budge so the nurse just put tape over them! It looked very unattractive ha my advise would be to wait until after surgery just incase you have to remove it & then it’s not a waste of money, but totally up to you 🙂 x

Some Drs will allow plastic but many wont, the reason we need to remove piercings is they heat up from the machines used in surgery, metal can become hot and burn you and plastic can melt inside the piercing. Even if your Dr allows plastic I would be very wary of using it, I would wait for until after the op (body piercing trainee) x
