piercings, nails……. do they all have to go?

hey ladies, I have nipple piercing I haven’t taken out since it was done at 19 years old (I’m now 30 lol) tragus piercings, double navel… do I have to take everything out? or can I get plastic ones in?

I’m gutted about loosing my nails but I know they have to go to or is it just acrylic, I understand why because of the equipment just gutted! xx

I had to take all my piercings out, including my nipple 🙁 speak to your pc though as it is down to your surgeon and he may allow you to keep them in xx

Yes hun in general they (piercings, false nails, mail varnish) need to be removed due to equipment and monitoring of your body. Like Casey said ur surgeon may be quite specific as to what they’re happy with although rule of thumb is ualky everything out and totally au natural including clip in hair pieces /extensions tht sometimes have metal in them but do check with and get confirmation from ur surgeon.

Honestly it’ll be worth it hun! I’ve seen some girls get their piercings back in under a month which I thought was crazy fast but hey just double check with ur surgeon /piercer.

@viktoria you can have plastic bars in Hun. I have loads. I have been told I can have plastic. I’m getting plastic bars for mine before the op in 12 days. Acrylic nails off . xxx

i’ve got my op tomorrow and i was told by my nurse at my pre op that I can sign a form if I want to keep some of my piercings in but I think it will all depend on the day.
I’ve got a nose ring and the top of my ear which i’m hoping I can leave in but I reckon the nipple will have to come out.
Im well gutted my nails have had to come off, can’t cope with my stubby fingers, struggling to even type this without them on haha
I can let you know tomorrow once i’m there xx

I turned up with my piercings in but plastic bars and they put tape over them and it wasn’t a problem

So just spoke to my nurse, I explained I cant take my nose ring out and I’m happy to sign the form and she said that’s fine she’ll tape it but if they decide to take it out during surgery they can just in case I wake up and its gone.

Viktoria – i had my op yest. took out my piercings but i have naturally long nails and just had to remove all nail varnish from fingers ans toes.

Surgery was fine, everyone’s been amazing! It definitely hurts more than I expected but oh well! I woke up and my nose piercing was still in so all good and they didn’t burn or anything and it’s hollieavery
Not with the Y – I need to make the photo sizes smaller later but ill upload them on here. I love them haha xx

I have quite a lot of piercings, some in my ear I physically could not remove both me and my mam and the nurse were trying to get them off and couldn’t so in the end I had to tape two of them and they were fine about it. Nipple piercings for sure have to come out though xx
