Hi girls. I had by BA yesterday and it went well. I came back to my hotel last night as I’m staying in London for a few days. My chests feels incredibly tight and sore with the breast band I’m wearing. It is adjustable so I am wandering if it might be on too tight? My surgeon said I need it to push down on my boobs so they drop so I get it needs to be fairly tight to work? I’m also finding moving agony. Getting in and out of bed is horrendous plus I’m worried when it hurts so much that I’m doing damage? Could I be doing damage and how long is this going to last?

I haven’t taken my strap or bra off yet. Is it ok to look this soon?

    Hi Molly,

I can’t comment on the breast band as my surgeon doesn’t use one, however pain wise that is exactly how I have been.

It hurt to even talk for the first couple of days just from making my chest go up and down. They have been very sore ever since Sunday and whilst I’m starting to get more movement in my arms they are still incredibly tender.

I found using my legs more to move around really helped, I doubt you will be doing any damage as its only hurting because it’s been ripped not that the muscle can’t take that kind of movement.

Hi molly im 5 wks post op i also had the breast band its awful haha.. I kept mine quite tight for couple of days then loosened it a bit still tight but not as much.. I also put cotton pads under qhere it sat under armpits that helped as i found it too cut in there.. Just remeber its not forever i had to keep mine on for 30 days.. Was weirs not wearing it. For first couple of days now its lovely.. Good luck and all the pain you are experiencing i had too i had unders and thats a longer recovery mine r still quite hard but changing all the time xxx

Thank you Jay. That is helpful. I’m going to ring my nurse today to ask about the band. Whilst painful, it’s nothing I can’t cope with as long as I know I’m not damaging myself. Using my legs more is good advice. Xx

I had unders too Dawn so I’m definitely experiencing the pain. I will keep it tight and not worry then. One of the doctors said if it restricts my breathing then it is too tight. It is not doing that so must be ok. I keep thinking its a bit like having braces on your teeth as a kid (you may not experienced this). When they tighten the braces it really hurts but needs to be to move the teeth/ breasts in this case. My surgeon Dr Fiumara said it needs to push my boobs down as they are so high. How long did it take you Dawn to feel more mobile. I have movement in my arms okay and I have been chatting away so it’s literally just the getting up and down again from beds/chairs that I’m struggling with. I hope you don’t mind if I add you. Xxx
