hi girls, I had my operation yesterday (11th of may 2015) at Preston with Dr mounir. My time was 1pm, but went in at 12.30 and was shown my room straight away (room 9). I had been worried all weekend thinking that Dr mounir and the anesthetist would refuse to do my BA as my GP had told me on Friday he had written a letter to them explaining I had a spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung) over 12 months back. So I was scared that they would decide they wanted my hospital notes etc before they went ahead. but when I got there the nurses when through some questions and did my stats (blood pressure,o2 levels and heartrate) all was fine and nothing was mentioned. I got changed into my gown…paper knickers and socks. Next the ward doctor came in to ask questions…I told Him about my lung and he was fine with it (don’t think they had received my gps letter though) he listened to my lungs and they were fine…He then listened to my heart…He was ages listening to it…scaring me! He said he thought he heard a ‘extra sound’ in my heart but then listened again and it was OK. He then went and came back to put my canular in…and said he would like to do a ECG on my heart to be on the safe side! (I was really panicking then) the ecg was done before my canular was put it. He was looking at the results of the ECG for ages….all sorts were goING through my mind. But he then said it was ok. .phew! !! Canular was then put it and was told there was one girl already down in surgery (this was a girl I’ve been speaking to through this forum, Emma) and there was another girl after her then me 🙂
Jessica, another girl I’ve been speaking to went down in the morning and when she came back up sent me a pic of her new additions…well the last definitely made me forget about all the stressing I’d been doing over the weekend and in the hospital 🙂 talking to those two girls that wereally going through the same thing as me on the same day with the same surgeon really helped me relax and finally get excited! Thanks girls!xxx
dr mounir then came in to draw on me and sign the consent forms 🙂 then around 4.15 the anethasist came to get me and take me down. She hooked me up to a ECG machine again and the next thing another anethasist came and put something through my canular (he didn’t tell me what it was or that he was even doing it…just did it) my feet and legs had a really strange sensation then I was told he was putting the sleeping juice in (not sure what the first one was) a oxygen mask was put over my mouth…I counted to 15….then I woke up with booB’s! !!firest question was ‘did he get the 400 in?….YES! I was amazed!!!
It was 5.10pm and I was back in my room! Was all sooo quick! My partner looked through my notes, it said the first incision was made at 4.30 and all done at 5pm!dr mounir is bloody amazing!
I was absolutely fine…well my booB’s were stinging but I was walking around. ..ate a sandwich and toast, drank water and coffee. Used the loo. Got changed. My blood pressure, temp,of levels and heartrate was just fine. They said they had to keep me in for three hours…but I was ready after a hour really…so they let me go at 7.30 with my painkillers and antibiotics 🙂 xxxx
slept like a baby all night. A little stiff today, but I’m going to keep moving as that seems to help.will do before and after later on today 🙂 xxxxx
good luck to all u girls waiting for your twins and happy healing to all of that have had them. Best decision of my life!couldn’t be happier!xxxxxx
