    Hey Ladies,
    I have my op at Fitzroy on 10th November and I’m curious to know how long the whole thing took for you? Things like:
    * What was your admission time?
    * What time did you arrive?
    * Were you taken straight to your room?
    * What time did you go to theatre?
    * How long after coming around were you discharged?
    I know it varies from person to person so I’d love to hear from as many of you as possible. Preferably from ladies who visited Fitzroy as I wonder whether this is busier than other hospitals due to being MYA’s own hospital (???), but maybe not…

    Hi babe,
    I had my op at Fitzroy on 27th Sept. My admission time was 7:30am and i was shown my room pretty much straight away. Went into theatre about 1 hour 30 mins after admission time. Had to see a few people first before op. It took about 45 mins or so for actual op then just a short time to come round, then i was back in my room by about 10:30ish. Think i left fitzroy about 4pm, when they were satisfied with how i was. Its a nice place and everyone was lovely there. Wish you all the best hun xx

    I had my op at Fitzroy on 15th September. My admission time was 7.30, I arrived at 7.10 and was taken straight up to my own room. Saw the nurse within 10 minutes for observations and surgeon came in just after 8. I then saw the aneasthetist about 10 minutes after that and then was taken up to theatre at about 8.50. Woke up in recovery at around 10.45 and then saw the nurse every hour or so and was discharged at 3pm.
    Absolutely lovely place and lovely staff you will have a nice day there xx

    Thanks ladies! I spoke with my PC and she is going to request an early admission for me so that’s great to hear of your experiences with early admissions.
    Good luck with your op on Monday @murph It’ll be great to hear how the day goes for you. You’re with Linda as well aren’t you? What size are you having?

    Hi Hun I had my op yesterday the 19th oct, I was admitted at half past 11, taken to my room, changed into a gown, had all the checks etc, then I saw the surgeon and he drew on me, and I was taken down around 12.20 pm, everyone was lovely and my surgeon was amazing, I had mastopexy and implants and came round about quarter to 4 I think, minimal pain, staying overnight, cannot fault the staff here, if you need any help let me know xx

    Don’t count on an early admission time. I booked my operation in April and had it yesterday. I requested an early time as I’ve have a little boy and needed to arrange child care etc. They gave me the latest admission time of 3pm. So don’t getting your hopes up. I was really disappointed that my circumstances weren’t taken into consideration and it’s not like I didn’t give plenty notice! I’m sure everyone wants the early admission time so I’d imagine everyone requests it.
    I was out at 9pm though so my stay wasn’t as long as others because I was the last one left!

    @murph
    hopefully I will but I don’t know if they take much notice of requests but there’s no harm in trying.
    Oh I know that feeling! I’ve got a second consultation with Linda on Saturday to go through it all one final time to put my mind at rest. Not long now until your op! Mines 3 weeks today – whoop!! 🙂

    @helenlouise1986
    That sucks, especially as you had a good reason for an early admission. I will accept what I’m given as I don’t need an early admission it’s just what I would prefer so figured there’s no harm in asking. My PC said that the hospital schedule the admissions / surgeries about 7 days beforehand so she told me to email her a reminder then and she’ll get in touch with the hospital. Fingers crossed. Did your PC say the same to you?
    9pm isn’t too bad, it’s definitely earlier than I’ve seen some people discharged, but obviously this varies depending on each individuals recovery. Hopefully mine won’t be too long.

    Xx

    Hi babe I wasn’t at Fitzroy so may be slightly different but my admission was 10 am I was taken straight to my room nurse came to do checks and give me clothes and surgeon came to see me then I was taken to theatre at 12 that depends on how many people the surgeon has to see I was second which was good . Then I had come back around by 2 and was discharged about 7 x

    Hello ladies, this forum has been very helpful! My op is this Sunday 13th Nov.
    I was just wondering when you were given your admission time and also how many people you were allowed to have in your room? Really want to have my boyfriend and best friend there with me!
    Thank you in advance 🙂 x

    Hey @jessicasbajourney
    On the MYA paperwork it says you’ll find out your admission time 24-48hr beforehand but I received mine 7 days before.
    Your only allowed one in at a time but if you have a single room as oppose to a twin then they may be lenient and let you have two people in. Xx
