Hi girls, I just wondered if anyone has been recommended to do post op massaging on your boobs to reduce the likelihood of capsular contraction and help them settle quicker? I see so much online about it but was never told either way. I have textured over the muscle implants with Mr Mounir and am just over 2 weeks PO. I’d like to do it as I see so many surgeons recommending it online but I don’t want to risk doing something wrong and damaging them somehow! If anyone’s heard either way please let me know 🙂 x

I’m glad you’ve mentioned this as I was wondering if to start doing it or not. I’m only 1 wk post op

I didn’t think you had to massage implants nowadays with them being textured as this already lowers the risk loads x I will be asking this question to the surgeon tomorrow now though to be sure x

I was told to start massaging at one week post op as it helps soften them. I’ve been doing so for the past 5 weeks and they are softening lovely. I had mentor 320cc ultra high profile overs.

Massage is usually only advised for American patients due to the type of implants they use so don’t massage unless instructed to by your surgeon xx

You don’t have to massage our implants to gain a less risk of cc because they are textured. Also I wouldn’t massage unless advised to by surgeon as you can hinder and slow down the healing process of the nerves reconnecting I read x

Thank you for your responses guys 🙂 Seems like there’s a divide in opinion as per every other forum I’ve read online about this haha! I read that about textured implants lowering the risk too Susan. I’ve emailed my PC asking if she knows what my surgeon says so sit and wait I guess! Just want to do everything I can so they heal perfectly! xx

Hi girls! Spoke to my nurse today and she said the general MYA rule is do not touch them! And if you really want to massage, ask at your 6 month check up for the all clear to do it. Apparently it can cause a seroma if you’re not careful, so there’s our answer 🙂 xx
