I got to take my dressings off yesterday as 9 days post op and I’m now allowed to shower. I had a good look at my scars for the first time and one is flat and smooth to touch and looks really neat, the others like a lumpy jagged caterpillar! Is this normal and when can I use scar gel?
    Thanks xx

One of my was quite lumpy when my dressing came off and it seems to have settled a lot flatter now (currently a little over 2 weeks post op)
I think it might just take a little time! No creams, gels etc can be used on the incision until after 6 weeks xx

Ah thanks! I had to use a bit of oil on them to get rid of the sticky residue left by the dressings but I’ve not put anything else on. Maybe it will flatten out then hopefully! I’m just being fussy as they’re absolutely perfect really xx

Hi Hun I see what you mean the second photo looks in a zig zag line but in all fairness it’s probs still has loads off healing to do so I wouldn’t worry I can’t believe how smal mine are looking already I’m amazed lol it’s true that everyone’s heals faster and slower than others it’s just a game of being patient ain’t it xxx

Surgeons say the operation is 2 operations one on each boob, just like your eyebrows your boobs are sisters not twins.
They are both different and this applies to your scars too.
I had one worse than the other two and one is higher than the other and doesn’t sit in the crease yet, but the other is (I guess this is also because I’m D&of at different speeds)
I’m nearly 5 months post op.

Thanks ladies! I just thought it’s such a shame that ones going to be barely visable and the others a bit scruffy but I’m not even 2 weeks post op yet so I do have to have patience. I really can’t complain otherwise! im sure the scars will settle down xx
