    My op is in a few weeks so I’m now looking into getting a few post surgery bras.
    A lot of people know about the Macom, M&S, asda etc..
    However, how are you supposed to know what size to get? really struggling to find out as I don’t know what size ill be… haven’t had much advice of my surgeron about any bras to purchase or of my patient co-ordinator.
    Any advice would be great? thank you x

    Hey Demi,
    I highly recommend the Macom iBra it’s so comfy! You just order your band size as the cup stretches 🙂 I’m normally a 30/32 and ordered a small in the iBra which is a 32 and fits perfect! I had to order an x-small in the ultimate bra as it comes down quite low on me and was loose at the bottom but I wouldn’t wear the ultimate until I’m further into healing as it’s just not as comfy as the iBra. You can get 15% off Macom with the code: MYA2016 I bought a black and a nude colour in the iBra’s so if I’m wearing lighter/white clothes I can wear the nude colour 🙂 my surgery is a week today!! Eek xxx

    Hiya I would definitely ask you consultant/surgeon roughly what size you’ll be? I asked to be a definite D cup I went from a 32a and my surgeon has told me to get 34D sports bra as swelling I needed a bigger back size. I got a Macom bra 34 back size and also 2 pack of sports bras 34D from matalan for 8 pound! My surgeon chose my matalan bra and they are amazing and so comfortable daily and to sleep in, I found the Macom really restricted me and also pulled my boobs together being a front do up. My surgeon put my bra on for me after surgery and now when I bath if I need help il just ask my partner to help to do it up at the back but I’m really capable of doing it myself anyway. Good luck! Xx

    Hey, I haven’t been advised other. I just went by advise on here and got the signature Macon in black and white. You buy your back size so I got a small which is 32 and fits perfectly, and it still has the 3 hook settings. I’m going to stick with my macoms straight after the op then buy some cheaper ones for a few weeks after xx

    Hi sweetie, good luck with your op…. so I was going to order a Macom but at my pre op with my nurse she advised me not to bother, herself and patients preferred other bras …. she advised me to get a sports bra with zip front she suggested asda, marks abd spencer and a 3rd I can’t remember sorry … she told me to get a couple of sizes, the sizes she suggested were based on the size my surgeon thinks I may be … so I had to get a 34DD and 34e…. I feel I should have also got a 34D… it’s all dependent on your profil etc so if you can contact your nurse and ask her, they all suggest different. Good luck again xx

    Im almost 6 weeks post op and let be my MACOM bra’s. I bought the M & S high impact bra too but I didn’t find it to be as supportive. With MACOM you can just buy your back size and that’s it. I wouldn’t buy a bigger back size though – some girls have done that and they’ve been too big. I know you will be swollen at first but you do have a adjustment on the front. I’m hoping to get the all clear tomorrow to start wearing other types of bras, I’m still going to stay in my MACOM at night etc x

    @Jess- Yeah that’s very true because it does still have the hook setting so you can adjust it, didn’t think of that. Thank you all advice has helped xx

    @Kelsey
    Yeah I haven’t been given a number for my nurse? I know people have been able to contact theirs but I only have the number for my clinic and patient co-ordinator. I’m having high profile round implants.. don’t know whether that helps. I’m gonna purchase a Macom to be on the safe side and other gym bras front zip ones. Thank you Kelsey xx

    @Shelly
    Thank you for your advice its helped loads. xx

    Have you had your pre op yet? That’s when you will meet your nurse, if not your PC will know, but also when you do get chance to meet your nurse she will be able to advise you also. Good luck xx

    I got a couple of macom bras for after my surgery found them to be way too restrictive and they marked me quite badly to the point I begged my husband to take me to M&S 1 day post op and got myself some of thier high impact sports bras. They were so comfy but it’s all down to personal preference at the end of the day.

    Having a bra too tight is just as bad as having a bra too lose as is can displace your implant permenantly. Getting the right size is so difficult which is why I would recommend the Macom and then buy some more bras post op to try.
    Swellin is unpredictable which is why they tell you to buy a larger band size than you usually wear – this should prevent any discomfort that other people have experienced. I only wore my Macom for a week as once the swelling had gone it was too big on my band but not only that, it felt very tight as my implants had started to drop so I opted for a crop top – similar to a Calvin Klein one as that was my surgeons recommendation.
    Good luck.
