Pre op NINE WEEKS before actual surgery?

Got my pre op tomorrow but my actual surgery isn’t till 17th January? I’ve heard a few people saying they’ve had to go back for a second pre op because the swabs they did at their first pre op was out of date where it was so long before the actual surgery? Wondering why mine is way before my surgery? Just wasting their time and my time by doing this surely?

I think it’s usually 6 weeks, mine was today at 4 weeks early – 9 does seem early! Maybe it’s for annual leave or something

@lyndseyp27 my PC booked it at my first consultation but I had already planned the date of my surgery before we discussed the pre op so I’m not too sure what she was thinking haha. On top of all that Warren Street station (the one closest to Fitzroy) got evacuated today because someone thought there was a bomb ? fab!! ? X

Oh god that sounds long! my op is in 5 weeks but I have only just confirmed the date! So I haven’t even had a pre op yet! I would just ring and see save u going twice as u say they need upto date recent records/samples surely x

@amyr yeah I’m definitely gunna ring them tomorrow, hopefully they don’t try to charge me to change the pre op! I’d rather go twice if they’re gunna charge me haha. Yeah they will need to have recent swabs so I reckon I’ll definitely have to have a second pre op! x

I know I would go twice aswel! Don’t think u will be charged tho let me know how u get on where are u getting ur ba done ? X

@amyr yeah I’ll see what my PC says tomorrow and I’ll let you know ?. Getting it done at the Fitzroy in London, these 2 months are going to go so slow! X
