Hello, I’m 8 days po and had my strapping of yesterday. I was under no illusion that this would be a ‘quick fix’ and did consider all the information given to me before making my final decision. However, now having had my surgery, and seen the results so far, I feel like I wasn’t given all the information I should have been given.

I have really numb boobs, both of them at the bottom. It feels horrible. If I hold my new boobs from the underneath it feels like I’m just holding plastic boobs, because they’re numb. I was never told this would happen, and after researching on here, found that the feeling might never come back! My nipples have stretched also.. Another thing I wasn’t told. And again have read that they will stay like that. This has got me really down as not only might I never be able to feel them, I’m not going to like looking at them.

I’m still in a lot of pain 8 days po and am due to go back to work tomorrow. I was advised I’d need a week off and I’d probably be okay to stop taking painkillers 3 days po. So I was under such an illusion about recovery. I definitely cannot go back to work tomorrow. I still can’t do simple things like flush the toilet, lift my arms up, hold a pan whilst cooking. This has left me in a bit or a predicament as in going to have to tell work I can’t come back and give them a reason why – as I didn’t tell them why I was having a week off in the first place.

I just feel like mya was really strong on emphasising all the good points and benefits but nothing on the bad points and negative. If I’d of known what I know now it would have made me really reconsider. What’s funny is I was actually offered 400cc and made the decision to go smaller to 350cc. And if that’s stretched and hurt my body this much, 400 would have been hell!

I’ had a few things to complain about mya already, and now this has just made my list longer. Obviously I haven’t seen the end result yet, but putting everything into the equation, I honestly don’t know if I’d recommend mya. The only positive part of my experience so far is the lovely staff. Especially at the fitzroy clinic. They were amazing. Just a waiting game now though! I hope and pray I like the end results!

Oh no! That’s never good. Let’s hope some of the things you are experiencing get better with time. I’m sure they’ll look amazing, lovely. I’m having mine done on the 20th of this month and in this has definitely made me think! Xx

Oh no!! I was given a sheet from my pc at my initial consultation explaining all these risks, that’s terrible you never got one!!

About the recovery i have read it takes 7-14, as everyone’s pain threshold is different. Also if you have unders it’s supposed to be more painful and longer recovery time.

I can’t believe you’re pc never told you, you should definitely write a letter of complaint to say you were not properly informed, sounds like she needs some training!!

I hope you feel better soon chick. After so many days though it’s not good that you still can’t flush toilets etc, perhaps have a word with the nurse to be safe? Xxx

I read every piece of paper she gave me and nothing mentions the problems I’ve had 🙁

I thought I had quite a high pain threshold! I told my nurse yesterday that I still couldn’t do simple things, and all the pains I’m getting and she just said it’s normal everyone heels differently. Which I understand. I had partials also so might explain it. If it’s not any better 14 days po I’ll definitely be seeking advice. It’s just such a pain! Not even able to do anything since my op haha, it’s getting to me now! Thank you though girls xx

Hey sweetie it’s a long road in the 1st- 2 weeks can be bad but as you get to your 3weeks it will start to get better and as on the CC front 400cc wouldn’t have been the problem you could have had 250cc and still have been like this as its down to the swelling that course the skin / nipples to stretch out and this can take about 1-6 weeks to go down and as for the numb feeling that will come bk in time ive 9 weeks post with my 3rd and the bottom is still numb but I had the uplift it took me 6 months to get the feeling back as if you think about all the nerves that have been cut need to fuse back togther but they can give you a time cap on how many weeks it will take for you to get bk work as everyone is so different but for you my lovely they will get better in the next few weeks xx

It goes both ways though, while you may not have been given all the information you needed, they were also questions you could have considered and asked. The areolas are going to be bigger with bigger breasts, I recently had my boobs reduced so I naturally had big areolas and so they were made smaller to fit with my new breast. It’s natural occurrence. As for the numbness, I’ve seen that it can come back and seems to a lot with BA girls, it just takes time. The body goes through a lot of trauma during surgery but I’m sure it will all sort itself out in the coming weeks 🙂

Thank you both for your advice. It has made me feel a lot better hearing that it will all fix itself within time.

I know the same outcome would have happened with any size implant I just can’t imagine my skin being stretched anymore haaha, so glad I went with a smaller size, even if it’s made the smallest difference. I was a small C before. I personally didn’t want big breasts though. I didn’t mind the size of them before I just wanted to make then look fuller. I like not having to wear a bra and them not getting in the way haha hence why I went smaller. I wouldn’t suggest you change your mind though because you might want a different outcome and result than I wanted.

I just didn’t even consider that my nipples would stretch and my boobs would be numb. It makes sense now, because as you say, nerves are cut and swelling causes the nipples and skin to stretch. But I’m not a surgeon. And I didn’t know any of that before hand. I asked as many questions as I could, even regarding things such as pregnancy to which I was told ‘just don’t gain weight’. I didn’t think to ask whether I’d have numbness and distortion as I didn’t think it was a possibility. I feel like I should have been told at the same time I was told about capsular contraction and blood clots. Hope your op goes well and you have a speedy recovery chantel!xxx

Oh no, sorry to hear you feel let down. I was originally planning to go with mya but after reading some reviews on here I’m now going with a different company and they have given me a sheet explaining all the risk and also told me in person right at the start of my consolation! I hope the rest of your recovery goes well and that you’re happy with the outcome xx

I did loads of research before my breast enlargement, I too have one numb boob . My right has no feeling in it or the nipple, I know that it is a common side effect and I may not regain it but the odds r I will.
Pain wise I still take pain killers every day I’m on day 11 , my left boobie has gone hyper sensitive so its helping with that.
I got a leaflet from Mya called the patient information guide, I think when I saw my surgeon but can’t be sure and it does detail all possible side effects.
Surgery does come with risks and side effects unfortunately and looks like we have some of them but hopefully not permanently :-/ still love my boobs though More so over the last couple of days.
Hope your recovery speeds up for u xx
