Pre op query

Hi girls,

My op is booked for 22nd March, and I’m still not booked in for my pre op. I’ve tried contacting my PC but having a few communication issues and now she’s on annual leave. I’m on the pill so need to know when I need to come off it etc and what I need to start getting ready. Has anyone got any advice? Thanks xxxx

Morning 🙂 have you asked to speak to someone else at the clinic or asked to speak to the nurse. My surgery is next week and I’ve been off my pill 4 weeks next week. I also had communication issues with my PC! Xxx

Hi Hun, I tried giving MYA a call yesterday but no answer so left a VM but no one has called me back yet. Typical. I’d probably be best to come off it now then just in case wouldn’t I? When did you have your pre op? Xxx

Hey I phoned the clinic and booked in.. I was advised to stop my pill 4 weeks before the op xx

I’ve tried calling Birmingham again but not having any luck so I’m going to try the online chat! Nightmare xx

Hi @emma yes come off it. I came off my pill 21st Jan and my surg is the 26th Feb. My pre op was 6th Feb. Have you gotten to speak to anyone now? Hope so! Xxx

I was told to stop pill 4 weeks before and can start taking again 2 weeks after surgery x

I was told 3 weeks to come off my pill and supplements X

Hi @kirstiem I managed to speak to someone and book my pre op for Friday. Still haven’t heard anything from my PC mind. Ive came off my pill too so should be fine 🙂 Thanks girls xxx

@emmaward29 I’m pleased you managed to get through to someone in the end! I would ask to change PC tbh, that’s not on how you’re unable to get a response x

I only booked my op last night and its on March 14th, my pre-op is on March 7th and I haven’t been told to stop taking the pill?! Might just stop it anyway as seems standard practice!

I’m 6 weeks post op. I stopped taking my pill 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after. Not long now, good luck
