Quick question

Just a quick question if anyone can help..
Can you book your surgery date on your first initial consultation or do you have to meet a surgeon first then book in?

I was told what dates were available when I had my initial consultation xx

Ive booked my surgery for december and not seeing my surgeon till end if november x
