So after weeks of having an infected incision and the nurse swearing by it was absolutely fine I’m now preparing for a re op today after speaking to a different nurse and getting a second opinion! I’m devastated I love my new boobs but just haven’t been able to enjoy them knowing that the infection is still bad I have a big chance he’ll not replace the implant on the day and I’ll have to wait 3 months which also means loosing holiday money ect!! Just to make things worse I experienced shooting pains and burning sensation yesterday then my left boob (the infected one) just started dramatically changed it dropped so much lost all its shape it was so painful and obviously so worrying they think my implant has ruptured it’s just been one thing after another and I’m pretty sick now I’ve waited 22 years for this then within the blink of an eye it could be gone even just for a short while this should of never happened!! I plan on taking things further that’s if I get anywhere. Any advice would be appreciated girls xxx

@EMILY, oh my days, you’ve totally been through it haven’t you?! Sooooo good that you spotted it early and that mya got you in fast- bit mad that you needed to get a second opinion though, doesn’t fill you with confidence! Really surprised you didn’t get anti-biotics for it as soon as you showed someone. Sounds so so painful, really feel for you. Good luck with the recovery now chick, everything crossed for you and happy healing. Can they wrote you a sick note? Sounds like you need some rest after going through all of that. Take care xxx

@emily12 oh no, I’m really sorry you’ve had to go through all this 🙁 I can’t believe your nurse kept fobbing you off, who was your nurse? I hope once this all gets sorted out you have better luck with your healing xxx

@EMILY, thank god that the second nurse was fab. Totally feel for you and such a shame that no one gave you anti-bs straight away, but at least it’s getting all sorted now. Massive fingers crossed for you with the op, keep us posted xxx

Eventually last on the list I had my re-op he removed the implant as expected but has said it will be a long while before I get it replaced. After a hours of underneath believe it or not because if need cleaned ect I’ve been kept in over night with drains and they are awful. I’m miles away from home I just wish this was all over my heart is breaking. Thankyou for all lovely words girls xxx

@EMILY, oh I’m so so sad for you and to hear that- such rubbish news for you. All you can think is that at least you’re safe- you’ve not got an infection anymore & it can’t lead to anything horrid. Can’t imagine that is of any help right now though, totally understand how you must be heartbroken. Sending you love and happy thoughts xxx

@Emily I have read your posts and it has actually made me teary as I understand exactly what you are going through. I had my left implant removed due to a very nasty case of hematoma. I am finally going back for my re op in just over a week after nearly 3 months of having it removed.
It has been a horrible experience and very emotionally draining.
If you need a chat or any advice or support for anything then feel free to contact me. I really feel for you hun as its a awful thing to have to go through. Sending lots of love xxx

Thankyou for your comments guys. I read ovet that message and it didn’t make much sense I was still very drowsy. Anyways I spoke to my surgeon this morning when I was more stable and he’s actually have to cut away all the scar tissue as it was all inflamed I was hoping 3 month was gonna be my maximum time to wait but because of this I have to wait a minimum of 6 month I just feel so fed up I can’t bare looking it just makes me cry wish the was just all over. Thankyou Harriet that would be nice all my friends keep saying it’ll get better which I know but it’s so hard getting something you’ve wanted for years away from me. Did it take you long for to your normal self after just having one out? I haven’t been to bad today but I’m getting really stiff now. Bet you can’t wait not long now! Xxxx

Hey @Emily, to be honest although emotionally I didn’t feel good at all, physically I got better pretty quickly.
I spent 4 days in hospital on a lot of constant medication, 2 different strong antibiotics on Iv and 3 Ivs to boost my hydration and energy then liquid morphine and a strong opium bassed painkiller. I was out of it whilst in there and had a massive come down my first day home with lots of sickness but after that I got better very quickly.
I think with nothing in there it was a lot easier to heal because no stretch or weight to deal with. It felt a lot easier than first time round.
Like I said I really do feel for you as its such a huge thing to go through that no one will understand. I know everyone means their best by telling you it will be ok but it can be fustrating to hear when you feel the way you do now.
I just hope for some miraculous reason that you’ll get it done sooner than 6months. It does seem like an awfully long time but I guess all circumstances are different.
Hope you are doing ok hun. Lots of love ❤️❤️❤️

I’m alright physically tbh this time round has been so much easier it’s all in the brain ? I’ve started getting myself out though instead of hiding away and only can hope for a miracle that my op will be a shorter length of time. Thanks girls ? Xxxx

She always said everything was fine and just taken slightly longer to heal you don’t think you have to doubt them which is sad knowing she’s really ruined my life. The new nurse Charlotte is amazing she seen my photos on the Friday and rang me Friday night saying I had to have a re op two days later. I’m honestly in pieces and feel like hibernating away but I need to try and stay strong so I can heal quicker!! Xxxx

I’ll be taking things further and putting in formal complaints about her she totally over looked the fact it was infected. Me not even as a professional knew it was infected she’s supposed to be a fully trained and qualified nurse. She’s not getting away with this she’s ruined my life my confidence everything I’ll get my justice xxx

@Emily hello Hun, just read your updates. Terrible to hear your nurse was so negligent, very worrying to think something so severe has been overlooked! Hope that you are doing ok. My advice to you would be to leave it and just go with it, don’t try and fill your bra with anything to pad it out because anything rubbing against the incision could irritate or worse case infect it. I know how awful and awkward it is but just wear loose clothing.
Every time I’ve read your posts it really upsets me as its really close to home for me and I understand what you are going through. I think as hard as it is you just have to think at least you caught it before it took hold as these things can turn really nasty. I hope you are recovering well my lovely sending lots of love xxxx

I always look out for your posts Harriet but I don’t know how to tag you haha!! I tried private messaging you but that didn’t seem to work. I just can’t seem to learn to live with it 8-12 weeks I could deal with but 6 month is such a long time away 🙁 I’ve been wearing loose clothes but because I know it stops me from leaving the house it’s destroying me and I’ve made myself so poorly mentally. It’s spoilt holidays I’ve waited years and years for I just don’t see any positivity. I always love hearing from you because your the only person that really understands. Thankyou for your kind words hun!! Xxxxx
