So I’ve been in contact with MYA for ages now and I’ve decided I’m going to go ahead with the breast enlargement.
Could anyone recommend which surgeon is best to go with?

As I live so far away from the consultation places I’ve been advised to know which surgeon I want to go with to have all the consultations done in the same day. So the advisors at MYA told me to research the forum and hear who’s had the best experience with what surgeon!!

    Thanks lovelies!

First week was hard but for me day 5 onwards improved loads apart from a few sharp pains from sudden movements and then by 2 weeks I was back to normal xx

I am only pre-op with my surgery on Thursday, but I would highly recommend Dr. FIUMARA based on my experience thus far. She has answered all of my concerns and was great to discuss options with.

Mr Giannitrapani is very good, he’s an approachable man who will give you his honest opinions. He did a fantastic job on my tubular breast.

Dr Fiumara is a straight up perfectionist and excellent at achieving the natural look and my nurses confirmed she has the lowest rate of post op complications. She is very caring and has a strict post op routine with some different rules to follow for example she doesn’t like strapping, drains or macoms. I was able to wear a normal crop top post op whilst healing. I had to sleep upright for four weeks but my results speak for themselves my boobs look incredibly natural.

I researched the surgeons for about a month and for me it wasn’t about going with the most popular or the one who had performed the most surgeries. If a surgeon is that busy up and down the country if u need to see them urgently ur chances are quite slim plus I didn’t want someone who was so overworked or ridiculously busy either. Going for someone who has done most surgeries is like saying everyone drives white A3 audis so I will purchase one as well….. In my opinion anyway.

My surgeon specialises in difficult cases with assemetry and reconstructive surgery too so I knew she would be very delicate and opt for the right solutions for my breasts which had a slight sag, were far apart and needed a slight uplift. She is very cautious in what she suggests and happily explains all of her suggestions to you if you are unsure. I saw her three times before my op to finalise everything and ask as many questions as possible.

All of the nurses pre and post op were very enthusiastic to inform me that she is very skilful with her incisions and they are tiny and extremely neat.

I wanted a female surgeon because I felt she would be able to objectively give me natural looking boobs from woman’s point of view. Thats just how I felt personally. All of the surgeons have websites showcasing their work History and where they studied etc so dig a bit deeper I say. Fxx

Hi Fran, I know I didn’t start this message but just wanted to thank you, I’m booked to have 350/375cc (one boob slightly bigger) mod plus unders with Dr Fiumara on Monday and you have made me feel so much better!!!!
I have never thought I’d made the wrong decision going with Dr Fiumara as she was great at my consulations, but just to hear someone’s experience (especially as you had the same op as me) is so reassuring and im now super excited! She doesn’t seem to get mentioned that often on the forum.
I have wanted a ba for well over 10 years and finally (and after having 3 kids) feel the time is right.
How did you find the recover process, if you don’t mind me asking? My youngest is only 6mths old.
Your pictures look amazing, you must be over the moon with your results!! Xx

@allyferrara thank you hun! Ur your very welcome. I felt it necessary to voice about Dr Fiumara because she is so overlooked and she’s truly amazing.
I too found it difficult to find many women who were going with her but I established some really good boob friends on here and instagram.

You are in very safe hands just follow all of her instructions however different some maybe to what other surgeons advice she is a perfectionist. I had a very good recovery and took some supplements before and after to aid which I double checked with Dr Fiumara. They were zinc, magnesium, feroglobin and vit c. All to help my growth and repair. I stopped all exercise a few months before my op because I didn’t want my muscles to be tight and I really think it made a difference.

Make sure u have total rest post op and don’t raise ur arms have min movement and get a good night’s sleep before ur op. Dr Fiumara was so kind and gentle on the day she reassured my mum who was petrified and only just accepting what I was going ahead with.

My mother was really pleased with my results and couldn’t believe how well I healed and how neat my incisions were.

As long as u have support for the first 5-7 days with ur little ones I’m order to have a full on rest u should be fine after that. Usually ur meds are for upto 7 days ans u will need to ensure u take them on time. I had mine with food and set alarms from 8am-8pm so I was in a good routine. I drank lots of pineapple juice to reduce swelling and ate Prunes to aid the constipation which ensues due to the meds. Lots of water also to flush out the anesthetics. I just felt discomfort no pain. Take each day as it comes! A v-pillow and backrest from argos were my life savers and helped me sleep upright for four weeks. I used water wipes when I didn’t have the energy to bathe and they’re free from chemicals. When I did have a shallow bath I used sanex zero body wash and roll on as advised by my nurse. The night before the op I used hibiscrub to start the process of prepping my skin for surgery and had my last meal at 9pm the night before. My admission was 7am and I was the first in theatre as I had a lengthy surgery ans was higher risk due to my medical history.

@dzonana I just wanted to let newbies know that there are surgeons out there at Mya who get heavily overlooked. No offence to anyone was intended in my initial comment and I apologise if you or anyone felt offended. I was simply using the audi as an example.

I have been on this forum for nearly a year and more often than not a lot of women go for the most talked about surgeons without doing their own research or fully understanding the process / complications /recovery or asking enough questions. There is a difference between a blunt surgeon who tells u something compared to a surgeon who is blunt but explains their suggestion and I feel it’s so vital to go in with a set of questions. There are loads of set questions u can find online to ask ur surgeon online.

I have read so many stories of people becoming disheartened by their final results due to a lack of communication and I’m not directly blaming the surgeon or patient at all. I just believe that personal research is fundamental because despite it being such a common proceedure there are tons of misconceptions to having a ba.

For example final results are not are few hours after ur op or overnight which quite a few people get upset and stressed over it can take upto a year. Also having the same stats as someone doesn’t mean u will be offered the same size or placement.

I had Dr Fiumara three weeks ago because I wanted to achieve a natural look. She is absolutely amazing and I couldn’t be happier with the results, especially the incisions! They are so neat and tidy 🙂 She deals with each case individually and doesn’t tend to follow the same rules as other surgeons post op. Such a lovely surgeon x

@dzonana ok hun I’m glad I didn’t, I really didn’t want it to come across like tht at all! I just worry sometimes because some girls are more emotional and anxious and dont always know exactly what they’re getting into esp the healing stages. It can be quite scary.

Not everyone has the support system at home or from friends I think that’s why I still login to try and help as there aren’t as many post op round 6 months or more still here.

But yeh ur right we are defo all in the same boat! Thank God for myaspace! Fxxx
