Just a quick questions girls, im looking at having the BA and have been offered a late space in August but I only have 1 day holiday left! so I was just wondering if the recovery period is bad because I was thinking having it done on a Thursday afternoon and going back to work on the Monday. I only work in an office so my job doesn’t involve any heavy lifting or much moving.

If anyone could help that would be great.

Personally I would say from my own experience that should be fine! You have a few days to get over the worst (not that it’s bad it’s just a little awkward up to 3 days later) after that I was fine! Making the bed & getting dressed myself, going to walks & rugby matches from the day after my op:D everyone’s different I know but I would of definitely been able to go back to work after a few days/week xxx

I think that would put too much pressure on yourself. I certainly would advise a week off work and I work admin too. You don’t want to push yourself too quick as it will only delay your recovery and put strain on yourself.
I know it’s hard to turn down dates as we all want it sooner rather than later but you need to have enough time off work. It’s essential. X

I am 6 days PO now and I don’t think I would have been able to sit at a desk 3 days PO. I found days 3-4 the worst with regards to my incisions stinging and aching and found that I needed to be relatively laid down to prevent myself being in agony. I got better very quickly after this however and managed to look after my kids on my own as from yesterday at day 5 PO. Maybe call a sicky ? :/ lol x

    Thank you girls!
I would love to take a week of work to speed up my recovery but I know it cant happen, I may be able to call in on the Monday sick which means having about 4 days off. Everyone recovery is very different it seems, I hope I can have a speedy recovery otherwise I’m looking at having the BA in January otherwise 🙁 I remember reading that having unders or overs makes a lot of difference on your recovery. Also do any of you know how late he surgeons roughly work during the week? xx

Yep everyone is different although I’ve had aches I think I’ve come off pretty lightly compared to others I hear of who haven’t been able to get out of bed for days!
Just like someone said above it will be a lot of pressure on you to get better quick.

Sorry hun I have no idea about surgeon times as I didn’t go with mya xx
