    Hi girls
I’m booled to have mine done in December but my question is how bad is the recovery? I only ask because I am a teacher and so not really afford to have the recommended 2 weeks off! I need to have minimal time off,but I don’t want to commit if going to work is going to be super painful and also ruin my recovery and new boobs!
Any advice would be welcome please, realistically how soon could you go back to work? Bearing in mind I could get away with doing very minimal arm movements lol!
Thank you for your help I understand I may be being silly but Im going on holiday this christmas and don’t have the patience to wait until the next school holiday!
    Thanks

@hjlewis350 I had a week and a day off work which was fine but the first two days back were a struggle. I have a desk job and was very glad of it as I wouldn’t have been able to stand up all day, I found walking around quite painful for about 2 weeks so I suppose it depends how active you need to be. Are you having unders or overs?

@hjlewis350 if I was you I’d take the two weeks off! I’m a nurse in a busy hospital and couldn’t think of anything worse than going back after a week (I’m 4 days post op)! Just give yourself the rest your gonna want it! Xx

I’m a week post op tomorrow and I’m still in pain 🙁 struggle to open doors and things, the pain hasn’t ever been extreme but it’s just when you use your arms too much. I couldn’t drive or anything yet. I had under the muscle though so it’s a longer recovery. I feel exhausted after leaving the house for a couple of hours. I recon I need a few more days to start doing normal things again but everyone is different! I’ve read some people are ok after 3 days!xxx

Hi Hannah. I’m a teacher too. I had my BA 21st of October. I work in a private school so I had a slightly longer half term. It worked out 11 days post op I went back which was completely fine. I could have gone back a few days earlier. I just made sure I didn’t lift anything heavy. Driving did hurt a bit as I’ve quite a long commute. I’m 4 weeks post op tomorrow and feel completely back to normal. I have managed to keep my BA completely discreet from work as well. X

Hi I am 6 days PO and it’s been really quite painful. Still can’t lift my arms and feel tired and sensitive around breast still. I have been working from home since POd 1 but could not get the tube and go in yet. Even going to my 1 week post op tomorrow I am scared as going alone..may Uber it although theres a direct 10 min bus from outside my house to Fitzroy. Take 7-10 days in my opinion. Because mya lure you in they don’t advise you on the gravity of your recovery. I honestly thought the op would be super chilled and easy recovery in front of TV but it’s been a world of pain I was not prepared for.
Only telling you ️as I wish someone had told me!
