    Hey guys,

I’m 6 days post op, had my stickers taken off today and was able to shower, didn’t need incisions re-dressing so that was a bonus! But I noticed that my left boob is quite red, probably a good inch or two around my nipple and mainly around my lower breast area. It feels hot to touch and the left one is definitely more tender than right. Is this something to worry about? An infection? I’m still on my 7 day course of antibiotics and have taken ibuprofen.

Did anyone else experience redness in one breast?

I pointed it out to the nurse who took my dressings off and she said not to worry, but I am! Isn’t redness and heat a sign of infection?! Ahhh 🙁 worried 🙁 xx

Can slightly see redness in this pic. Should I be worried?

Hi hun, Did you have unders? You need to remember you are only 6 days post op and expect them to be red and hot at the moment. Dont worry xx

ahh that explains that then. Remember your muscle will be inflamed so this is completely normal hun. Happy healing and make sure to stay on top of your meds and get plenty of rest and you will be right as rain in no time xxx

I had this, totally normal – it’s just your boobs getting used to the tightness and random pulling around in surgery!

Get some reusable icepacks – they do the world of good!

    Also they look amazing! xx

@rachelellious how is the healing going? Mine are still really tender and achey! Not as bad but still weird! Nipples are now really tender too! I have been trying to lay off painkillers though so may need to go back to them…Hope you’re doing well and healing well xx

@Vicki Feel good today didn’t take any painkillers yesterday or today feel better for being off them lol . They ache but dont hurt, no feeling in my nips yet lol . Have you tried nipple covers ? i went and bought some silicone ones am hoping they are going to help if i have to use them. Healing ok i think, how about your scars ? have you had your check up yet ? xx

@rachelellious I had my 6 day post op check up with nurse on Thursday just gone (30th April). She took off what was covering my incisions (as that’s all I had – didn’t have any strapping over boobs). And she said they didn’t need re-covering, she was happy. Gave me go ahead for showers but told me to avoid high baths – she said not to submerge or soak my incisions. I came off painkillers POD 3, they made me feel really groggy and out of it and light headed. Feel way better now I’m off antibiotics too, they weren’t making me feel great either.
I need to find some nipple covers! Where would I get them from? Right nipple is hypersensitive and it hurts! Left is still pretty numb.
Have you had your post op check yet? If not, when is it? Glad you’re feeling better! 🙂 xx
