I have been told that my operation on 13th December can not go ahead as I have had a referral for secondary mental health services (I am training to be a MH nurse, so could definitely take this down the ‘equality act’ line if need be.) However, my main concern, is that I will get a FULL refund, deposit and final amount. No one at the clinic can discuss this until Monday and that seems like ages (and £4000 plus) pound a way. I NEVER recieved any terms and conditions, in fact my patient coordinator has been changed 3 times so far, and my GP had alsready stated that I had capacity and was fit for surgery, until MYA decided in the last few days that this wasn’t sufficient. My main concern is to get a refund but if I dont get it I will take this down the legal route. Does anyone actually have a copy of terms and conditions? Stressed!

    Hi Alice
sorry for the delay, MYA have said that they will refund ALL my money, however, it may take up to ten days. I am on day 7 tomorrow so will let you know! To be honest, I wont be booking my op with MYA when I do have it, as have had experience with another company for my BA and felt the service was very different. Good luck.

    Hi @rachel61187 ,
    Thanks for the reply.
How did you broach the subject with them, was it your PC you spoke to initially to say you wanted your money back? Did they put up much fuss?x

Ask to speak to your PC’s manager. I spoke to Olivia, (Fitzroy) she was pretty helpful. However, it is day 7 and still no money in my account.

I rang through to try to speak to my PC, who was on holiday and Olivia answered. she told me she has just processed my refund, even though I haven’t even asked for one! If it’s 14 working days, I won’t receive my refund until after Christmas, which isn’t a lot of help as I want to rebook, either with MYA or somewhere else ASAP and you can’t secure a date without a deposit 🙁

It took me 14 working days, I had been told it was ten. They had to keep phoning up to check the bank details, and wouldn’t talk to my partner – whose account it had came from. They also paid it back in two instalments. I seriously would consider going somewhere other than MYA. I have found them to be appalling. To the extent that I was told on the phone I could come in and discuss bra sizes – I was meant to be having rhinoplasty!!! To had to fight to get a refund, when they took my money by deception in the first place – I had been transparent about my m/h from day one. I had paid for a letter from my GP stating I was fine for surgery. I WOULD NEVER recommend them to ANYONE!

Hey, this is a little off subject but do you know if MYA still do half of the cost upfront and then the other half on finance with no credit check? Thanks! 🙂
