I know you aren’t supposed to put too much pressure on the nose! I bought a Clinque cleanser for really oily skin that I’m using on my chin and forehead whilst my cast is on but will gently wipe my nose with it when its taken off. Dr G told me you can wear make up on your face just avoid the nose for a few weeks and after that use a make up brush to put it on gently. xx

Your skin has been traumatised during surgery and so your nose will be a lot oilier than usual for quite a while as it heals there is not much you can do except cleaning it gently and always carry a powder on you during the day to touch up! I started wearing make up a few weeks after my cast came off but still didn’t wear too much and whatever you do as sunflowers said don’t put any pressure on it! X

I find that the oil blotting papers you can get from boots are brilliant and I use them now everyday to prevent clogging up my pores with make up and actually remove the oil! I found I had some blackheads for abt a week but gently wiped good cleanser with a cotton ball over the nose very lightly twice a day helped. Just be really gentle with everything, your body and nose will tell you if you’re not doing it right! 🙂 x ps I only lightly put foundation on my nose now with a make up brush and I’m 8 weeks post op.

Thanks everyone haven’t been getting the notifications! I’ve been putting makeup on it for about a week with brush and I’m now 6 weeks PO hence the checkup tomo. Just wanted to check I won’t be told off for wearing makeup but sounds as though it’s ok! Xx

I’m 19 months post op and now I always have an oily nose.
It’s really annoying but I just carry powder with me everywhere.
Have recently spent over £100 on dermalogica products and I think I’m noticing a difference. I know a few other girls who are over a year post op and still get an oily nose
I’ve literally tried everything so hoping this dermalogica works out x

Oh no! I have the oiliest skin already! It feels disgusting enough right now and I’ve only had my cast on a week. I hope your PO check up goes okay Ella. x

Well I got to London only to find they’d changed it so that I had a pointless appointment with the nurse literally just to take photos rather than with dr g. So pissed off! Now got to go all the way back again in a few weeks to supposedly see him then..not happy! Xx

That’s irritating. I live a way out of London, I don’t want to be making that journey just for a 5 minute appointment. xxx

I was so annoyed because although I only live in Brighton, I had planned my whole week around the appointment. He must have not been able to make it and they forgot to tell me..so poorly organised! Ughh xx
