Rhinoplasty: had cast off today, but when will swelling start showing?

Hi I just had my cast off today and I was wondering would the swelling start showing today? Or does it takes day or so to show? I ask because I was told by a friend that it shows within hours, but I wanted to know if this was true or will it take days? Any advice or experience on this would be great 🙂 xx

mine swelled up about 15 mins after which was quite a shock and for me it cost worse then one day it would be tiny! but don’t worry if this happy it will gradually go down over the next 4months but it does take up to 2 years to see final result! mine took a good year x

That quickly?! I can see mine got swollen on the tip a little bit since this morning. But it doesn’t look swollen to me at all!! In fact if this is swollen and I love it this much then I’m excited to see the final result! 🙂 is there a chance then that it hasn’t swollen yet an might show tomorrow, or do you reckon it swollen and I don’t realise? Just I’ve heard people are usually in shock at the swelling… xxx

Everybody’s swelling is different and it depends on how much work you had done etc. Glad you are pleased x

my swelling happened the next day and continued, it will be a year in november and my tip is still swollen but im trying my best to be patient =)

Yeah I think it just depends on the person and what you have done ! I had so much done I wasn’t surprised it swelled up so quickly after 12 days of the cast holding it all in! But you just got to be patient I’m a prime example and now nearly 2 years post op in so happy where as when I was 4 months I hated it xxx

I panicked when I had my cast off because my nose looked so thin I wanted it to get swollen, mine kicked in after a few hours but I can honestly say that I am happy with it the way it is swollen its not really bothered me that much, I just keep thinking how much smaller it is now than what it was before. But everyone is different we all heal and swell differently. Hope you are still liking it x x

Mine swelled up pretty much straight away, it was huge when the cast came off. I’m now just over 7 weeks and it’s come down a lot but still quite swollen and the tip feels really hard x
