Before my op i was always out running and taking part in half marathons. I’ve been back at the gym for 5 weeks now but haven’t been running yet, I’m 12wpo tomorrow. has anyone else been running after there op and if so how long after?

    Hey.
I’m also a keen runner so asked my surgeon, Linda Fiumara, how long I needed to take off from running and she told me three months. She tends to take more procautions than other surgeons so yours may say you’re okay to start again. If in doubt ask your surgeon at your 12 week check up, if you’ve not already had it. Xx

I’m 6 weeks post op, the nurse said I can start fast walking and build up to running. But after your advice Imogen I will wait til 3 months, best to be safe then sorry x

Hey, I also usually run and I’m itching to get back out. I’m 5weeks po, my surgeon said to wait 6weeks before taking up any exercise again.
I was thinking to do couch to 5k so I have a plan to start slowly.
