So I’m terrified that I’m not going to wake up from the anaesthetic I am in good health I was just hoping people would share there experiences with the anaesthetic and basically tell me I have nothing to worry about????? Xxxx

I used to have a fear of the exact same thing :/ really bad! But I had a minor op nearly 2 years ago which required General anaesthetic and I was absolutely fine! I had a really bad phobia so I know how you are feeling. Trust me you’ll be fine! I am no longer scared, coz it all went absolutely fine. Do not worry hun xx

I’m literally petrified aswell! I’m more scared of being allergic though but m PC reassured me. Everyone in my family has had it and been fine.
The anaesthetist is with you throughout the op making sure there is enough going in so we’ll be in good hands xxx

Thankyou girls! I am just overthinking if I think, they train so hard to get the job so I know I’ll be ok. I’ll try not to worry haha but that is easier said than done! My family members have also been fine so I should be. My pc also reassured me πŸ™‚ and my surgeon said if that’s all you’re worried about then he’s happy which made me laugh πŸ™‚ Thankyou girlies !! Xxxx

Ahh I’m exactly the same it’s the only thing I’m terrified about! Never had GA before so I’m dreading it, I also feel like I won’t wake up! I just know I’ll be a wreck when I’m on that bed and they’re about to put me sleep! Can’t stand the thought of leaving my boyfriend to go to surgery and never see him again, let’s just say I’ll be happy to wake up haha xxx

This was my worst fear before the op but I promise you girls have nothing to worry about at all. It’s actually quite nice.
You will meet with the anaesthetist before your op and when your ready they are so lovely, calming and reassuring.
It’s honestly like your shutting your eyes to go to sleep and the next minute you wake up. I felt really nice and rested straight after, it was lovely.
I know it’s hard but please try not to worry. You are in safe hands ☺️X

Ul be absolutely fine iv had a general anaesthetic once before and sounds strange but liked it lol. People are with you all the time and are talking to you as they put it in and next thing you know your waking up with a nurse beside you and everything is all done! Try not to worry you’ll be fine! Xxx

Honestly Hun, you’ll be fine. I was worried too but just kept telling myself that I’m young fit and healthy so it would be fine. On the day of my op the anesthetist was fab and totally reassured me so I felt in very safe hands xx

Hi girls, my op day tomorrow and I feel exactly the same. But everyone says it’s fine and they’d do it all over again. I just feel like I’m putting myself at risk for vanity, but the nurse said most people worry about that and it’s very normal to worry. She also reassured me by saying that planned surgery is so much safer than emergency surgery as they’ve removed all the dangers e.g. Alcohol medication which helped me come to terms with it xxx

Stop being silly. Of course you will wake up! Everyone has that fear. I don’t know what I worrying about, best hospital experience ever. It was my first time and you’re out before you know it. The cannula they put in your hand hurts more! You just speak to them, hold the oxygen mask over your face and just feel drunk. Make sure they comfort you! My lady was telling me how many glasses of wine she was putting into me! ahaha, you will be FINE. You might be emotional when you wake up though. I cried a little and so do many other people. It’s just what it does to your body. I also had post-anaesthetic tremors but that’s just how my body reacted..
    Good luck. Xx
