Sharing rooms?

Hi girls!

Not the most important question but I’m having my boobs done on Wednesday 22nd at the first trust hosp Preston and I was just wondering what the room situation is? Is it a private room or is it like a ward? My mums obviously coming with so will she be able to wait in the room if it’s private obviously? Bit more info would be fab! Thank you! Xxxx

Mine was private but iv seen some people sharing, i didnt ask for a private room so i dont know how they determine who gets what? Most people have someone with them tho so i think even if you share your mam can be in the room with you, theres an actual waiting area and you can get food too so she will have somewhere to wait while you are having the op if she cant stay in the room for that bit x

all rooms at preston first trust are private, only some have en-suites and others have to share. I was reading there information booklet whilst waiting for my op so thats how i know! Your mum and any other visitors will be asked to sit in the day case waiting room which is located right opposite the theatre. My mum wasn’t told this so she waited in the room until someone showed her. Food and drink is available for visitors but it is at a cost and is only served between certain times although i do think that there is a coffee machine:-) good luck with your op! xxxx

Your mum will be allowed in the room with you but while your in theatre she will have to go and sit in the waiting area hope that helps x

I was just given a private room, but it didn’t have an ensuite. I was also allowed both my mum and dad there too, though they had to wait in the waiting room for the actual operation while I was in theatre. x
