My skin has always been slow at healing but I’m starting to really freak out about my stitches. Had my op on the 23/02 and my stitches are still very scabby and red around the edges although they aren’t sore or itchy at all. I didn’t get my plasters removed by the nurse until 2 weeks po which I’ve noticed everyone on here seems to have that done a week po. From looking at the pictures you girls are uploading my stitches are just completely different, I’m nearly 5 weeks po now and don’t know what’s wrong with me. Is anyone else like me? What do you girls think I should do?
Will try to upload pics of both sides

Your image has uploaded Hun. I can only compare to how mine looked at 5 weeks but yours do look very red around the incision and quite angry. Everything’s most probably just fine but I would send the pics over to your nurse or book an appointment to get them to have a look xx

Thanks for reply Ellie. I have no idea what my nurses email address is so will call up Tuesday! Really worried they are infected or something, only reason I’ve stayed calm until now is that they feel fine and aren’t oozing or anything. But looking at other peoples pics makes me think something definitely isn’t right xx

I was guna say are they weeping at all as that’s usually a sign so that’s a good thing that you say there not 🙂 are they feeling hot? Not sure how your PC is but you could always send her over a picture on text message too xx

I would definitely get it checked out X I kept my dressings on for 11 days p/o before they were removed but by my 3 week check they were healed with no scabs left , I know we all heal at different rates but just to be sure and for your peace of mind I would contact your nurse x

I wouldn’t say they feel hot either, they just look so wrong and are not healing! My PC is absolutely useless, haven’t heard a word from her since I handed over my money. Might text her anyways though just incase she can be arsed replying for once lol xx

If they aren’t giving you any pain at the moment I would just wait until your 6 week check up it should be next week? You never know they might just suddenly change be for then, I m 4 weeks post op and my left still had scabs on thismorning but I had a different sports bra on last night and when I took it off the scabs came straight off and look like they have healed so maybe your healed under the scabs and they just clinging on xx

Have a look for your pre op / 1 week post op appointment email that should be from your nurse, I would send them to her just to have them checked! They’re probably fine but like Clare said there was a poor girl on here who had an infected wound and left it due to the nurse saying it was fine and it wasnt giving her pain and she had issues from it going on so long! Hope everything turns out okay sure it will but peace of mind is always worth it xxx

Sorry not been on here for afew days. I don’t drink or smoke and been eating healthily aswell. I’m going to call up today and ask to speak to my nurse.
Glad to hear someone else is also still scabby too Sarah! Lol
I’ve definitely been over doing it but with a 2 year old who cannot sit still I have no choice!
Thanks for your replies everyone xx

Just thought I’d let you ladies know that I’m having a reop on Tuesday as my surgeon said my scars look too thick. Not good news and dreading it but I suppose it’s better to have them looking as best as possible in the long term even though it’s the last thing I need having a reop right now! Been put on some antibiotics too. Worrying I’m going to put through an op again just to have the same end result, how can I change how my body heals? Knew something like this would happen to me lol xx

Oh that’s such a shame Jess, I hope your op goes well & you have a fast recovery! Best to get it sorted now tho rather than leave it and need one months/years later! Xxx

Thanks girls, hope it just all gets sorted and I heal a lot nicer second time round. Feeling sorry for my poor little boy who’s got to put up with me not picking him up or doing are usual stuff again, especially seen as I have no family to run around after him this time. Love my new boobs just wish I’d bloody heal! xx

Glad you got them checked – I thought something might be a little wrong from your picture X at least you will get them sorted now and hopefully heal better this time, just do everything you are told and don’t rush things . If you need strapping on for 2 weeks then so be it , don’t rush to ditch the sports bras either – I’ve seen a lot of girls posting pics with under wired bras on to early and it’s not really good for you , you could try taking arnica but would need to start asap X hope all goes well and I look forward to your updates X

I will definitely do as I’m told and more in hope that it all goes well this time. I’ve been stressing incase it was something I’ve done to cause them not to heal well but think it’s just one of those things. In no rush to wear an underwire bra either, not really the sort of girl who cares about that kind of stuff ( more for the comfort lol). Will have a look into arnica thanks for the heads up x
