    Hi ladies

I turned 4 weeks post op yesterday and I always take photos of my progress each week. I had dr Andrea as any of you have had him you would know he uses stitches that need to be taken out not the dissolvable ones, I had my stitches taken out by a nurse 2 weeks ago now but since I’ve felt some sort of like sharp piece sticking out of one of my insicions I didn’t think nothing of it as much and hasn’t bothered me until last night my insicions felt irritated when I looked it was red it’s very tiny. So I got my boyfriend to look he noticed a shiny stitch still in there I couldn’t take more of the soreness so I pulled it out myself now I’m worried this will get infected!? I’m a little annoyed the nurse has dismissed this! It doesn’t look bad now I’ve removed it my boyfriend just told me to stop messing with it now and see how it goes as I have my 6 week check coming up the 28th of this month I don’t know if I should still tell either my nurse of PC ? Really worried but my boob feels so relieved now it’s removed X

I’ve added a photo still looks red but isn’t bothering me as much now i have only noticed so much cos the rest of my incisions have healed lovely apart from that tiny scab right at the end that’s red!

    Hi Amy,

It looks fine to me and it’s a good sign if there’s no pain but just to be safe I would probably give your nurse a call just to let them know and to give you some peace of mind 🙂 x

Hi Hun, I had Dr Andrea too so had the loops on the end of my incisions snipped off at 2 weeks. Although these feel quite hard/tough they are dissolvable stiches, Dr Andrea just likes to loop them outside the body at the end of the incision to keep the stiches tight. At two weeks provided the incision has closed these are snipped off and the remaining stich is absorbed back into the body and dissolved. I can any guess that what you have felt is the end of the stich that was snipped. Ive looked at the picture and it looks really clean and clear. I think signs of infection are when its inflamed, weeping and hot so as long as you don’t have any of those symptoms id guess all is good. If you are anything like me though call the nurse to put your mind at ease xx

My attitude is you’ve paid enough, if you are in any doubt or concerned call them! They would rather see a thousand women and say it’s all fine, than miss that one! There is no point worrying, you are bested off asking for help from them X hope you are feeling ok x

@abs2109 heya Abbie mine wasn’t snipped I had to snip it myself last night as it was sticking out last night into a loop so I couldn’t pull it like that otherwise I would of teared my skin open so I cut it then pulled it out slowly it was really annoying me 🙁 felt sore had no other choice as this was late last night it was stopping me from sleeping, I think I might have to get in touch with my clinic and inform them I’m just slightly worried but not that much cos the skin will still heal itself I’m more worried about it looking red like its irritated X

Hey Sam @madmamato5 your so right I was thinking for what ive payed I don’t expect anything like this to even happen
Even such as a tiny stitch left dismissed it shouldn’t be left its annoyed me cos if anything went wrong and I left it longer I may of become infected if not already I hope I’m fine!! I just expect better care from them considering I payed a lot of money so will be getting in touch with them x
