    Hey girls,
Im planning to have my op early next year. Was just wondering what is the availability like with op dates? Did you book time off work and then book a date of your choice? Or is it best to book the op and then take the time off work around it?

Hiii.. I was thinking about this.. But going to see what dates are available at work for annual leave jan/feb time (only 2 ppl can go at a time) and then hopefully there will be a date that co-insides with it.. But I’m also wondering what the op date availability is like? X

i booked the time off first because I have to book well in advance at work then fit the op in around it so knew the dates I could do then my pc chose the surgeon who she thought was best who was working then but I had to do it that way around because of my job if you want a specific surgeon probably best to see when they available first then book around them xx

i knew i wanted mine done in october, the same week my mum has off work so she can look after me (lucky her haha) then asked the PC what dates were available for that time. I think with it being a few months away at the time it was quite easy depends if you’re in a rush xxx

My pc gave me a list of dates that were available with different surgeons as far in advance as she could but I ended up going with a different surgeon in the end and she offered me a date twelve days after I’d met her. My work is really difficult too & its hard to book time off without it being months in advance so my surgeon offered to write a letter to work to say I’m having surgery on this date and need at least five- ten days off and work couldn’t really say no! The letter doesn’t say what operation it is just where and when so if you aren’t telling anyone its easy to make up an excuse lol! xoxo
