Hey girls I’m having a huge difficulty sleeping sat up its so uncomfy. Do you have to sleep sat up or can you lie down as long as you’re on your back? I forgot to ask my PC and I can’t ring now because it’s too late 🙁
Any advice is welcome please…. Xx

Hey Amelia, I was the same. Didn’t sleep one bit the first night, then rang my PC about it the next day and she told me you don’t actually need to sit upright, you just need to make sure you stay on your back. A few girls on here seem to think otherwise and I realised that’s where I got the upright sleeping thing from in the first place! Perhaps one of the surgeons recommends it, but yes, you’re fine to sleep on your back straight away xx

I was told you have to sit sat up – not completely upright but on an incline. So it helps drain swelling and doesn’t put pressure on your incisions. X

I make sure I have something on my shoulder to lean my head on which helps but I usually wake up almost flat in the morning, just try and sleep at an angle instead of straight up xx

I was told you have to sleep upright for first week which was hell! I ended up with such a painful back then after a week your allowed to sleep flat on back. Tbh everyone seems to be told different so I would say if it’s
Comfier for you to lie on your back then do it:) x

Hope you’re getting on okay @Amelia!

I’ve read and been told that 45 degrees when lying is fine. It does help to reduce swelling apparently. I’ve been totally worried about slipping in the night though. Started to hurt my lower back last night but other than that it hasn’t been half as bad as I expected. Boobs are still melons under my chin though haha!xx

    Thanks guys 🙂
I’m good thanks Robyn! Haven’t really had much pain have you? Ah good I just can’t hack the whole sitting up whilst sleeping thing! Mine are still quite high and very tight and my skin is very stretched :(‘can’t wait for it to settle.. Hope you’re doing well @robyn xx
