Hey. Looking at my BA Procedure Guide from MYA it says to sleep at a 45 degree angle for a minimum of two weeks (if possible). It’s not advised that you sleep on your side for 4-6 weeks. Xx

@lauren-Suzanne I went to sleep with all my pillows/ V pillows propped up as I should last night but when I woke up this morning I was almost laying down and my neck was all cramped – whoops lol I’m only POD2. As long as you go to sleep sitting up there isn’t much else you can do, I’m sure it’s fine xx

Hi @Kelly Iv been having this issue for the last week. Im POD7 today. I go to sleep every night at a 45° angle. Sleep all night without waking but i always wake up led almost flat on my back. I brought it up at my 1 week appointment nd she just stressed that i stay at a 45° angle. Told me to buy more pillows which i havent as i couldnt possibky fit more on the bed lol. Tried propping the pillows differently but still woke up on my back after a full nights sleep. Pretty frustrsing tbh but i dont know what else to do.

@kellyx @rachelash Try putting a few pillows at the bottom of the bed under the duvet. Maybe having something there may just stop you from slipping down and ending up on your back?? Not because they’ll physically stop you from sliding down but because subconsciously you might want to move yourself when you come into contact with them. You may well just end up pushing the pillows off the end of the bed but if you tuck some of the duvet under the mattress at the bottom this could prevent that. Also if you have a bedframe which has a frame at the bottom of the bed then this makes it easier. Xx

If you move in your sleep there’s really not much you can do about it! I’ve seen loads of girls on here say they wake up laying down or in a different position and they’ve all been fine so I don’t think you need to worry yourselves too much. After my surgery I used a bed back rest which I brought from Argos, which did help keep me propped up, but even using that sometimes I’d wake up almost flat on my back… it’s completely natural to move in your sleep and there’s not really much we can do to stop it! Xx
