Sleeping is a nightmare at the moment, I already had a bad coccyx bone so my lower back and bum are in agony and I wake up from that pain. I know it varies from person to person etc but on average when can we start sleeping on our back again? -and then when can we sleep on our side. I’m back to work tomorrow and I can not be tired

I’ve only just started trying to sleep flat and I’m now pod11. 2 nights ago, my chest was too heavy so i had to prop myself up again. The pain isn’t so bad this morning, so i imagine it should be fine for me tonight.

Stick with it though. maybe use another pillow underneath your bum xx

I slid down to my back last night and imanaged to sleep for like two hours was amazing. I guess I’m going to have to just continue, I have 6 pillows and my daughter and other half had 1 each no more pillions in the house I’m even using the little costume cushions. Because I haven’t worn a bra I’m used to the heaviness it isn’t bad for me. Thanks Claire x

I felt your pain, I ended up sleeping flat on my back and found it much better. I’m now 4 weeks post op and sleeping on my side.

When did you start sleeping on your back @donna ? You think okay I will pay all this money and get fantastic boobs but it really isn’t that easy lol I don’t even like my boobs yet lol so all seems even more of a struggle!

I’ve been told I can sleep on my side when I went to my 2 week post op she said it was ok to, I haven’t yet though as it feels too weird as they aren’t soft so I have been sleeping upright but more flat xx

I’ve been sleeping with my v shape pillow with one pillow underneath so not too propped up. Does it matter? X

@kelsey the first 2 nights I slept sitting up in the sofa lol then I slept with the pillows. I couldn’t sleep with all those pillows & would end up with neck and back pain.
Once I started sleeping totally flat on my back is was OK and slept well with no pain. Before my BA I would always sleep on my front so this was a nightmare for me.
I hope you find a comfortable position XX

Exactly I was a wrong sleeper too! Yes it would be amazing to sleep on my side but the main thing for me is just to be able to sleep flat that would be a start I’d be so grateful for! lol I’m seeing my nurse tomorrow so will ask her when I can hopefully she says go ahead it’s completely fine ha… I can’t believe I’m still awake with work on the morning, I usually go to sleep at 10 on a work night but nope I can’t get comfortable thought I’d check to see if there had been any magically posts lol.
