I’m calling the nurse tomorrow morning and going to ask what the minimum sitting up time is. Don’t know how much more my back can take lol xx

I’ve heard so many people say they have been laying down from like a week but then loads saying they’ve sat up for 6 weeks! The nurse Said not totally upright but a 45degree angle xx

I think I’m going flat tonight !! My nurse said its just to help with the swelling why we need to sleep at an angle for a bit X

It’s to prevent swelling as you can feel as soon as you lay on your back they start to do their own thing and you are getting less support. It is bloody horrible sleeping upright ? I would say deffo go on your nurses advice and hopefully they will say you can lay down sooner than 6weeks. Spare a thought for me I’ve had 2 ops in the space of 3 weeks due to complications and I’ll be having a third op in the next 6 weeks so I will have bloody months left of sleeping upright ??
I’ve tried everything, V pillow, hot water bottle, more pillows, less pillows it’s a bloody nightmare!! I never go a night with out waking up. Xx

Yeah and she said once you lay down flat they start wondering up to your upper chest and that’s not what you want lol. She said she had hers done n it’s so hard sleeping up but worth it.
Harriet omg I didn’t think about that. You having to sleep upright for that much longer. All these little factors make it harder. How you Been?xx
