I stopped smoking for 2 weeks prior to my op in August and I haven’t smoked since and I’m 5 weeks post op now, I would defs try and stop just so you heal quicker and easier then if you wanted you could always start again x

Hiya… I will be honest and say…. I did not stop smoking 🙂

I cut back… but didn’t stop compeltely. I have had no problems with healing and I’m 13 days post op… you can add me if you would like!

I’m not saying that you’ll have the exact same experience as me… but, I wouldn’t beat yourself up about it if you really can’t stop. xx

I would really try your best to stop before before and after for as long as possible as all of the reserach shows that it does impair the healing process.
Having surgery a few years ago was actually the reason that made me stop smoking because I wanted to heal well and I have never started again so its a win win situation

The thought of developing necrosis (Google pics) was enough to make me quit. It also kills your white blood cells so your scars can end up awful. Good luck

Hey Hun I stopped 1 week before but that was due to the fact I had such a quick turnover 2 weeks before is advised and 6 weeks after at 5 weeks po I was back on them :-O but I plan to stop again! I can do it just get bored plus I read an article saying as long as you give up by 30 it should have no long term affect on your health (probably complete rubbish) so I thought I’d fit in a few extra weeks of the dirty habit pmsl good luck with what ever you decide 🙂 xx
