Post op ladies how are you all doing? I seem to be getting more bloated as the days pass and I know it’s a bit too much info but my op was like 5 days ago now and I’ve still not been to the toilet! Anyone suffering and know how long this will last? I wasn’t even this bloated at 20weeks pregnant!!! Lol x

Hey huni. I’ve got a little bloated too but have been going to the toilet as normal – thankfully (may be as i stopped taking the pain meds at 2 days post op) xxx

I didnt take the painkillers they gave me, took windeeze and laxative type stuff on day 2 and have had prune juice every day which luckily kept all that at bay. Have u tried anything like that?

Hey, I’ve had the exact problem!! It’s the painkillers doing it. My nurse told me to take laxatives x

I had my ba on the 3rd and took something called senokot (natural relief) you can buy it over the counter and it worked the day after! i no longer look pregnant haha x

It’s the co-codamol that did it for me, nightmare constipation… Bought pure prune juice, from Waitrose… drink a full glass every morning and you’ll be good to go! Xxx

If you are taking anything codeine based it will make you constipated/feeling bloated – if you can manage without then don’t take them and just take paracetamol and ibuprofen. Try to eat lots of fibre and fruit and veg and take some laxatives. I was having lactulose and senna and it still took a couple of days to work! X

@chloe I had this so bad. I promise u it does pass. I took prune juice twice a day to help me “move”. By day 12 all signs of bloating had gone and I was back in my normal jeans.

Thank you so much ladies! I’ve only been eating dried prunes as my little boy loves them oddly enough so hopefully that’ll get me moving again! Haha I’ll have to stock up on the juice and the senakot though thanks for the tips! Well I’ve only been taking the pain relief morning and night time as that’s when I seem to feel it so I think I will switch to the other painkillers from here on!
    Thanks 🙂
