    I am SO confused.

Need help. I am doing my research and my surgeon consultation is in a few weeks however seen some girls talk about having to pay their deposit before this consultation or within two weeks after. I am only researching and am not even 1000% getting the surgery as only 18 and just weighing out the options my PC gave me the impression I could have my surgeon consultation and make a decision whenever I wanted with no costs. Please help. Seriously worrying!

@danielleblansh Hiya, as far as I’m aware (it was the case for me a year ago) you can have a consultation with a Patient Coordinator free of charge however if you want to have a consultation with a surgeon then you need to pay a £1000 deposit first. After meeting the surgeon, you then have a week ‘cooling off’ period where you can call off the operation and get your £1000 back x

Don’t panic. I’m 99.9% sure you only pay the £1000 deposit to secure an op date before you meet your surgeon. That’s what I did, but I was 100% on my surgeon and the date I had in mind before I had the consultation. I thought you could meet a surgeon without paying anything? Always best to give your PC a call to check though. X

Hey Hun! You have a free consultation with your PC and a free consultation with the surgeon without having to pay anything. The only charge you can get at that stage is £50 if you fail to turn up for the surgeons appointment without cancelling. If you then go ahead and book a date after meeting with the surgeon you then pay £500 deposit at that stage to secure that date. Hope this helps x

Thank you babe! So if I decide to take a while to think about my decision I can do without the charge I did think that was right as that’s what my PC said but I saw the above comment and really panicked!! xxx

Some people pay their deposit for the surgery before they meet the surgeon as they have a specific date that they want to have their operation on, I think that’s where you’ve got confused! If you’re not tied down to wanting a specific date there’s absolutely no charge for your consultations (unless you don’t show up like the above comment says then it is a £50 charge). I think there is a discount on the whole surgery cost if you book within 2 weeks of seeing the surgeon, which again is maybe another thing you’ve read and might’ve confused you. But don’t worry you’re not tied down to any costs for the surgeon consultation xx
