Spent the whole day feeling sick and wanting to cry :'(

I’m one day post op. has anybody else had this??? I had one of the painkillers that were prescribed for me at 09:45 and by 2pm I was feeling extremely ill and have been since?! Just want to cry. Hate feeling like this. I hope it wears off soon cause I’m so upset. My boobs don’t even hurt I just feel so so sick :'( can’t even appreciate them today cause I feel that bad x

Ah Hun completely normal. I felt sick for about 4 days. Was horrible. It’s the GA and morphine from theatre still in your system. It’s much worse than any pain for sure. Try and eat little and often. It will pass chick, trust me xx

It’s awful isnt it I was like this for a week ! I came off my antibiotics early as well I couldn’t stand being ill but good news is it will get better give it a week x x

Really? I’ve never had GA before this op so never known what it’s like afterwards. I haven’t actually been sick but I feel so close it’s awful I think I’d rather just be sick and then it might at least pass!!

Danielles right its probably just the GA I was so sick for the first two days it was awful I even regretted the whole procedure but it does pass ! Hope you feel better soon x

Thank you girls. I did regret it a bit today I was just sat on my bed with my eyes filling up questioning what the hell I had done. I hope it passes in a few days. It’s just the worst. It really is 🙁 xx

Hey Hun I’m sorry to hear your feeling so ill it will pass don’t regret it though try eating just some plain rich tea biscuits every so often and build your food up from that if you still not feeling too good you can get some anti sickness tablets. I also found with taking the antibiotics get some food in your tummy first then take one and continue the rest of your food as that stopped that sick feeling good luck Hun xx

Can the antibiotics make u feel poorly too? Can’t cope with feeling like this for a whole week whilst I take them :'( thank u for ur advice tho Hun ill give it a try xx

It’s a combination of all meds mixed together then to add to that there will be the bloated feeling and look from the 2 bags of saline and salt you had during your op altogether it just makes you feel yuk just try to drink loads of water too and you will be fine it does settle I didn’t use the pain killers they prescribed though as they are strong I used dissolvable paracetamol there no where near as harsh on the tummy and they get to work far quicker xx

Yeah I was on a drip of some sort for a while after my op I think she said that was salts and stuff or something! Yesterday I was fine on just paracetamol and then today I woke up really stiff and so had one of the painkillers they gave me and OMG since then I’ve just felt awful so think I might stay clear of them!!! They didn’t even help the pain that much.
Didnt even know sickness was a side effect of the op. it’s not cool. At all 🙁 I feel better knowing I’m not the only one who has been through it though!!! Xx

Awhhh chick… It’s completely normal I had a bad tummy but was never sick just really bloated an couldn’t go to the loo as the painkillers stopped that :/… I started to take paracetamol and ibuprofen and that helped me a lot… Don’t regret it, In a few days u will feel great xxx

I’m not taking the painkillers anymore cause I don’t have much pain going to get some ibuprofen and anti sickness tablets tomorrow 🙁 feel like I’m at rock bottom 🙁 horrible. I feel loads better knowing its normal though. Thought there was something up with me!! X

Hello Hun! I had that for about 5/6 days! Maybe more! But I was actually being sick 🙁 was taken off all meds and was told to just take paracetamol every 4 hours! Maybe try anti sickness tablets?xx

Really? I just want to feel better! I went to the chemist today to get some anti sickness tablets but they had none, how rubbish is that lol!
I hate how it’s making me feel. I’m really regretting the whole thing at the moment 🙁 x

Oh dear Hannah hope your feeling better soon, this is the first time you’ve had a GA isn’t it? Some people react badly to it, are you eating? Try phoning your GP tomorrow see if he can give you something for the sickness xx

Yeah it’s the first time. It’s annoying cause on the day of the op I felt fine afterwards it started the day after. And yep I’m still eating. It comes and goes in waves. It’s really bad right now. That’s a good idea I might give them a call in the morning and see if they can suggest anything for me to take. Can’t feel like this for much longer. Xx

Just make sure you are taking tablets on as full stomach as you can, otherwise this will make you feel sick. I have my op on 24th and not looking forward to the first few days after but by reading all the comments it deff will pass. 🙂

i felt sick, dizzy, weak and just horrible! stopped taking the pain killers after day 2 and still felt like it so i think it was the antibiotics as it says quite common side effect is sickness n stuff.. make sure to take any meds with food it helped me a lil x

Started being sick last night so got an emergency doctors appointment this morning. Hoping they will give me something 🙁 x

hi its ok i spoke to a nurse yesterday and brought my one week check forward a few days. got more tablets today from the doctors so keeping my fingers crossed x
