At the end of my 2nd day Post op and honestly the only massive problem I’m having is this strapping. It’s so so tight, it’s digging into my skins, it’s pulling on where my drains were, pulling on my incisions. It’s making me feel trapped and claustrophobic and the skin underneath my armpits where the strapping starts is hot to touch and swollen and it seems like this strapping is the only thing causing my pain. I can’t handle it I can’t wear a sports bra on top of it anymore as the pressure is insane. I just need this strapping off I don’t know how I can last another five days with it it’s reducing me to tears constantly. Feeling like such a baby

Aww it’s awful isn’t it but trust me it’ll get better, you’ll be so swollen now and that’s why it’ll be feeling even tighter, it will go down soon. I remember emailing my nurse the 2nd day cos I was panicking, I only had half strapping to! The first week is the worse I honestly think I’d of felt a million times better if it wasn’t for the strapping. Hold in there your 1 week apt will soon come round and you’ll finally feel like you can breathe again! Xx

I’m the same! Feel like the strapping bra and band are what’s causing me the most pain!
I feel like it’s literally burning my skin!
Counting down the days til it comes off

Ah girls it just doesn’t feel right at all. Every time I move it feels like it’s ripping at my incisions and where my drains were. I can’t handle it at all the painkillers aren’t even touching it x

Hi Maddie, I would ring up, see if you can get it off early, its sounds to me like its making you worse, do you really need it? I’m not giving you advice to remove it (as my friend did..and then she felt such relief AND her boobs recovered excellently) but thats just ridiculous how uncomfortable and painful it is for you , it can’t be doing any good that, especially as its chafing your incisions etc.. really feel for you chick xx

@pearl500 I rang up and the nurse said they need it on and need it tight to reduce risk of haematoma or something. I get it but some people are commenting saying the strapping is annoying but they don’t seem to be as agonised by it as I am haha. It’s excruciating I’ve never felt anything like it. All my skin under the strapping has been stretched so tight it’s actually hot to touch. I’m taking co-drymadol and antibiotics and muscle relaxers. Think it’s obviously not helping that I’m day 3 and so so swollen and it’s pulling this strapping that was already way too bloody tight even tighter, feel like I’m going to pass out!! Trying to just get on with it but it’s so disabling. Been told to wear a bra 24/7 but this strapping is so suffocating I literally cannot handle having any other pressure on top of it xx

I had my ba on Wednesday 17th may and I had 425cc high profile overs and my strapping is so tight and sore too! I brought one of the post op bras from mya but it was too small and causes me so much pain where it was so tight it was actually making me sick because I was struggling and getting so stressed! I’ve now changed to the high impact sports bra from m&s in a size 36E and it’s still so uncomfortable and tight but it’s so much easier as it’s a zip front and I can unzip it when I’m feeling very tight. hope you feel better soon!!

Must be awful Maddie , can’t imagine how bad that must feel, I’ve got a deep cut on my thumb at moment and thats bad enough throbbing away, I’m in next Friday and dreading the pain after reading how some girls on here are suffering. I’ve paid up but its going to take some guts to go ahead with it next Friday :’-( xx

@pearl500 honestly Hun the only problem I’m having is the strapping. I won’t lie and say it’s painless as it’s surgery and it was never going to be but don’t let it put you off. I’ve spent my entire life unable to wear bikinis or low cut tops and as much as I’m hating every second of these first few days after the op I’m so happy that I did it as I know it’ll be worth it. Think positive!! I rang the nurse again and they let me loosen the strapping under my armpits a little which has helped a bit, just need to try and persevere so I can get this strapping off and enjoy my new boobies xx

Yes it will all be worth it in the end ! Well..It better be?! Lol . I’m still sooo confused about this strapping business as I’ve noticed a trend with the girls on here who don’t have strapping and are straight into bra seem to feel more comfortable and less pain. I’m also confused as to why some surgeons strap and some don’t ..it’s a mystery. It just seems so pointless that those in strapping are feeling so suffocated and uncomfortable if they don’t need to be?! Hope you are feeling better tonight xx
