Im 5 weeks until my operation and a girl at work said i shouldnt have any sunbeds leading up to my op , then again for 6 weeks after? Anyone else avoided the beds for their boobs? xxxxx

You shouldn’t fit two weeks before, and technically a year after (this is any type of uv lights, including sunshine) as the uv rays damage your skin, and you can tan blotchy, and stretching damaged skin can lead to stretch marks. Also it can lead to your incisions becoming red and raised permanently
A lot of girls go back on them sooner then a year, but cover their boobs and incisions (sunblock wont work on sunbeds, as its not designed for the high intensity uv light), you need a uv blocker
Hope this helps Hun, and good luck with your upcoming new boobs xx

Thank you so much this had helped. So UV blocker not Sunblock, I also have a holiday booked for june 7th so just going to cover my scars completley. Wont do the top less thing yet as its only 11 weeks after the op i go!

I didn’t realise all that joannabella! Looks like its gonna b spray tans for quite a while! X

I know i suppose false tan is better for you anyways but i love a cheeky sunbed ha! I will try and live without them and just false tan afterwards! x

If you’re going to spray after, wait until your six weeks, same with any wash off tan, as it can lead to infection and dye your incisions 🙁 also not a good look 🙁
After your op if you really need to tan, use a build up moisturising one, but keep it away from your new assists and incisions, after six weeks, spray, and a good few months a sunbed (but keeping the uv blocker on) xx

Joanna do you think If I cover up my boobs on a sunbed I’d be ok to use them? Xx

    Menu

Get a uv blocker for your incision and a thick towel for your boobs Hun, you will be fine. How you feeling today Hun?! Xx

I will do thanks hun :), I’m ok trying not to look at my boobs so much at the minute because I was constantly looking and crying because I look so uneven, so trying not to look now and give stupid seroma boob chance to catch up lol. How are you? Xxx

    I used sunbeds right up
Until day before and my nurse just said “aren’t you lovely and Brown” ….however no one told me to not go on them so I think had I known about what Joanna said (girl knows her stuff haha) I probably wouldn’t have but it honestly didnt cause me any harm 🙂 xxxx
