Sweating and incisions.. Help!

Gross question but I’ve just been sitting in the garden and its sooooooo hot I started sweating! Will sweating affect my incisions and maybe cause an infection?? I’ve never had a problem with under boob sweat until now! Hahaha I was just worried it might make my incisions go gammy so I came inside 😂 such a worrier xx

I’m post op day 10 btw so they’re still healing xx

I’m the same Sarah! I only had my op yesterday and I’m sweating sat in the garden haha. I keep coming inside so my incisions don’t get too hot as I’m worried that they might get infected too xx

@lizziekateaspinall I tried googling it and I read somewhere that sweat doesn’t carry any bacteria/germs and it’s been proven to speed up the process of healing wounds.. Whether that’s true or not I have no idea! Xx

Id be careful girls. Sweating is a form of bacteria (but think its ok) however, it could lead to itching and irritation. Would advise taking ice packs outside or something to cool down the girls 🙂 xx

Ignore the bacteria comment…i think thats B.O. lol

Sweating is natural, it only becomes a bacteria risk when it’s exposed but because under your incision plasters it’s sterile you should be fine 😊

I just went to see the nurse today as I thought I had an Infection but it was just slight irritation and I’ve been told not to shower my incision for 1 week and I am 4 week PO. I mentioned about sweating and she said they will be fine and to just change my sports bra day and night 🙂

I got my strapping off yesterday at my 1 week check up and not to be too graphic but I’ve been horribly sweaty due to the weather!
My incisions were fine they’d healed well, but the strapping has given me a small heat rash so I’ve just been told to put sudocrem on it.

Just don’t get absolutely past yourself with heat and you should be fine 😊
