I have my procedure in 3 days but unfortunately I lost my job on Tuesday! Despite my family wanting me to cancel I am still going ahead! I’ve bagged myself an interview a week after my op and worrying now that I’m going to struggle to wear my office attire and how it will look with my macom!! Has anyone got any advise on whether I may need to go out and purchase a bigger size dress? I would be wearing a fitted dress size 8 and hoping the compression of the macom may let me get away with it?? Xx

Hey hun Your main issue may be raising your arms to put clothes on. The swelling u can sort with a larger size. If you prefer a dress outfit you are better with a high neckline / thick arm/straps to hide the bra shift style dress with a zip at the back so you could step into it. Failing that you could always wear a smart trouser suit and blouse/shirt as its obviously more easier to do up.

Depending on how ur healing /pain u may need someone to help you get dressed. I had to wear compression socks for two weeks post op as I had blood clot issues and I couldn’t pull my socks up to put them on my mum had to help me as it would hurt my chest. So bare that in mind if you opt for a skirt/dress and want to wear tights.

Hope that helps and all the best with your op and interview fxx

Thank you for replying! I have a few dresses that match your description, I am having overs so hopefully will be managing okay with the healing! Think I’ll have to try on a few outfits a few days before my interview and see how I hope! It’s the same day as my 7 day check up so hopefully I will be doing okay!
    – side thought I know you can’t wear any deodorant or perfumes for your op but are you allowed to use deodorant after? Would hate to go for my interview stinking!!! Thanks xx

I work in an office and went back a week after,
Unlucky for me I had unders & mobility was limited dressing myself, but I found that thin (ish) jumpers with sleeves and faux shirt collars etc were a winner- looking smart whilst still covered with pencil skirts & heels.
Hope this helps & happy healing to you- good on you for going ahead despite the odds, good luck in new job babe xxx

Ooh thank you! Think I’ll buy a few bigger shirts tomorrow just for the ease and comfort of getting them on and off! Just hoping I don’t look really pointy underneath with my macom! Super excited for my surgery day now! Xxx
