Hi I was wondering if anyone can help at all. I have my BA in January 2010 and have been fighting and begging with MYA for the past 2.5 years since I contracted Symmastia. Try have done absolutely nothing at all to support me or help me in anyway even though my surgeon Dr Andrew Hart based in Glasgow admitted I had contracted Symmastia and told me that he would be more than happy to give me corrective surgery to fix this but Mya are refusing to do this for me. Since then I have been speaking with lawyers and the NHS but nothing is proving successful and with lawyers it is such a lengthy process. My breasts are just gradually getting worse looking as is my mental state with them. It is now over 3 years since my surgery so does anyone know if I would still be wasting my time fighting with Mya? Also does anyone know any surgeons that have successfully corrected symmastia and are well known for this procedure that don’t work for mya? I have been told by one surgeon that hadnt carried out this procedure before that i would need to have the implants removed for 6 months and then it would be a big risk having others put in as it could happen all over again if it doesnt heal properly. I am just totally at my wits end and just don’t know what to do about this anymore! Any advice from anyone that’s been through anything similar would help.

I’m sorry I can’t help with a name of a Dr but the most successful fix for symmastia would be internal sutures or something called stratice, you may be able to search for clinics that offer the procedures. Good luck x

Hi, I’m sorry to hear about whats happened. I’ve just googled it cuss I wasn’t sure what it was, it says that this can happen if the sternum that goes horizontally across the implants has been cut by the surgeon or if the implant is fitted to big for you so surely its there fault so maybe you might be best to continue with a fight if you have the energy. Maybe you could look at having corrective surgery with another company but still fighting for your money if you can do that. Can I ask who your surgeon was? X

Yes I think this is what I’m going to have to do. Thanks for your reply and yeah it was dr Andrew Hart who was based in Glasgow. Nice surgeon that I thought but not nice enough to just have Mya told that they needed re done even though he admitted to me that I had symmastia. Been to see two different surgeons since and have both measured me and said the implants were the wrong size for me so yes it was the surgeons fault! X
