    Hi girls

I dont want to broadcast to work about having my BA done.l, especially as I work in a male dominated environment. ..

Does anyone have any idea or experiences to being discreet going to all consultations, pre ops and the operation itself?? I work full time 9 till 5 Monday to Friday xxxx

Im not telling work but I’ve booked 3 weeks off for the op and said I just wanted to use up my holidays before the next tax year. If you can’t get appointments at the weekend I would just say it’s for a check up at the dentist xx

I was the same Sophie. Not told anyone at work as I didn’t want to be gossiped about. I took time enough time off and got my consults before and after out of office hours – well 4.30 appts etc. You could say you have dentist / doc appt so need to leave early and get appts as late as poss etc. I told them when I went back that I’d badly damaged a muscle in my chest, so I could ask colleagues to help me with any boxes etc and then I suppose you could say you have a physio apt for your 6 week check etc. My advice would be to take at least a week, ideally a fortnight’s holiday.

    🙂 x

Hi Sophie, I was exactly the same. Had my first consult with my PC on a Saturday, took a days leave on a Wed to travel to London to meet my Surgeon and had my Pre-Op appointment one evening (18:45). I had my BA on Monday and have taken two weeks leave – starting on the day of my op. When colleagues started asking if we were going away, I just told them we were going to be doing some decorating 🙂
A few white lies, not sure if anyone’s going to notice when I go back..? I agree with AllyH though, you’re going to need a couple of weeks off if possible. I’m 5 days post-op at the mo and couldn’t imagine going back yet – although everyone’s different 🙂

Also Sophie, just read your other thread – I can’t recommend Mr Singh enough, I think he’s wonderful. Well worth meeting with him if you can and see what you think 🙂
