Hi Michelle. I’m not sure but if you speak to your surgeon they should sign you off work for 7-14 days. I’m in the army so the mil doc signed me off for 7 days but the nurse at highfields was gonna sort me out with one. Xx

Yes I asked my boss and he’s really good but our HR department said you can’t have it as sick unless it’s for medical reasons and not cosmetic. I’m having a week annual leave and I’m lucky I can work from home a week after.

What sort of job do you do? You could always take a week off annual then see how you feel about going back, you can self certify yourself for the first 5 days without a note so if you need a couple of days after you can’t lose your job but you wouldn’t want to cause any problems with your working relationship with your boss if she knows.

Or you could just not tell them and take a week off then go sick a few days and they wouldn’t know. X

I had a week annual leave and went back to work .. A week was just the right amount of time to have off for me but I have an office job so nothing too strenuous x

When I wanted it doing in august I told her what I was having so she will know when I phone in sick what it will b for. She is an awfull boss and I’ve worked for her for two years and never had a sick day. My holidays start again in January but she makes us wait until mid January to put any in so I’ve got a feeling she will make it difficult for me. Such had work 🙁 xx

Bless! Sorry you having problems booking time off work! U can’t have it as sick because it’s cosmetic, has to be annual leave. My best advise is to book your surgery for mid next year when it falls over some bank holidays preferably surgery on a Friday/Saturday so u have two weekend days then book 5days off work then u have another 2 weekend days then back to work on the Monday! Don’t think you would need more time off than that. If your a general worker that works in the the week. If your job isn’t nothing major!

Aww what a shame you have such a difficult boss, it might be best if you book a week off work and then go back and once you go back if you feel like you need a few more days then just go sick and say its a sickness bug or something and theres nothing they can do, it sounds like your a good employee not having anytime off. I hope you get it sorted. X

She is a dragon lol. I’m going to go see her tomorrow and try book 7 days holiday so that will make 16 days after my ba when I’m back to work. Just hope she doesn’t make it difficult for me. Thanks for your help girls. Wish me luck :)) xx
