    Hi everyone,

I haven’t had my op yet, booking soon! Just trying to decide whether to take 1 or 2 weeks off work? I work part time as a retail assistant.

It would be great to hear how much time people recommend to take off?

I’m having unders and was told I could go back to work after one week as I’m a receptionist.. Also said I would be able to drive after one week as well.. Think I might take 2 weeks off though just to be on the safe side!

I had 2, 1 week off holiday then had to take 1 week off sick. I’m a dental nurse. I could prob have gone back on the Thursday but thought I might as well take the rest of that week off

Its better to book to much time off than not enough. I was told by my pco 10days would be plenty but I’ve booked 2weeks off to be extra safe. Xxx

I only work part time, I do about 4 lots of 4 hour shifts a week, as I’m a student. I’m having my op in the summer holidays. But because I only do a few shifts a week I’m wondering if 10 days would be enough? I’ve already booked 2 weeks holiday a couple of weeks before my op, so I feel cheeky asking for 2 more weeks off for this op! X

You could be okay at 1 week post op but I’d say 2 weeks to be on the safe side it’s better to be safe than sorry.
