They say you cant drive until 2 weeks after your op so you might need to find another way of transport or take another week off. I work in an office too but im going to take two weeks off for a bit of extra rest xx

    Hello,

I also work in an office but have taken off 2weeks. I am having partials and have read that recovery can take a little longer. I also would prefer to go back to work when i am more able 🙂 and a few extra days off would be nice! xx

I was driving after after 9 days. I asked mr Kazzazi on the day of my op & he said 1 week is absolutely fine to be able to drive again. It’s all about how you feel & how much you can move your arms. I drive an automatic so that might make things easier.

Hi hun, I had partials on the Friday 6th March and initially booked 6 days off (Fri6th, Mon 9th – Fri 13th) and was due to go back Monday 16th March but had to extend it by 2 more days as I couldn’t drive. I went back to work 12 days post op (this Wednesday 18th) and I’ve struggled a little to drive properly, I cant put my car into 5th gear unless I use both hands or my right hand, which isn’t the safest option lol. I feel I should’ve had a full 2 weeks off, as I’m a little sore and swollen again now after driving the last 2 days. Lots of rest for me this weekend!! But then we are all different and recover at different rates. x

I’ve only booked a week off work, my op is on a Wednesday and I’m back at work the following thurs! I’m an office job too but hopefully it will ease me back into it as I only have to do 2 days before I have a weekend to rest again!

I am 12 days post op and went back to work after a week. I work in a office and I haven’t had and issues. I haven’t been able to drive though, the nurse at MYA told me that because I had been medically advised not to drive my insurance would be void.
I was up and about on Day 2, obviously there is some aching but no pain that stopped me moving around. But from this forum it seems everyone is different in recovery time.

Ive booked 19 days off to be on the safe side but I can go back earlier if I feel okay which is probably what I’ll do. I do admin x

I’ve booked 3 weeks off as I’m a midwife and think I’m going to struggle with 12 hour shifts with no breaks, even after 3 weeks off! Xxx

I booked a week off, went back to working from home after a few days, haven’t felt up to driving yet though and 10 days post op… My pain has been minimal throughout but just haven’t got the arm movement for driving… Take your time if you can xx
