    Hi everyone,

I went for my consultation with Dr Adamo yesterday and after about 20 mins into the consultation he suggested that I take more time to think about it. He said that I wasn’t ready and I shouldn’t rush my decision and now I don’t know what to do. I’m not rushing my decision as I have been thinking about it for years, but I am in a rush to have them done because I am go travelling in January for quite a long time. I was really set on having them done and was only really worried about recovery not about the actual op, but to be told by an expert that I’m not ready, its making me doubt my decision. I have already booked the op and paid my deposit – so I only have 7 days to pay the rest or get a refund. Dr Adamo suggested I get my refund and take some time to think about it, but if I cancel my op, there is no way I will be getting it done before I go away! And so now I am really stuck…any suggestions or advice?? Please help xx

Ultimately it’s your decision, but if you were 100% on getting it done would you let anyone even a professional chane your mind? He must have sensed some doubt during your consultation but at the end of the day it’s your decision and your decision only and If you want it done go for it xx

I think one of the main problems here is you will not have enough recovery time after the op. I know I would not want to go travelling only 7 weeks after.
The recovery time is much longer than you think as it is all too easy to convince yourself that after 2 weeks you will be 100% fit. I am 9 weeks today and still would not be comfortable going travelling!
I am not sure if any of that was in his advice though! xx

why dont you see another surgeon? maybe he thought you was rushing things without thinking when your really rushing it so you can heal before you go away. Everyone heals differently and its YOUR choice and YOUR body nobody elses. You know what you want so go get it 🙂

Yeah I would say see another surgeon! I doubted myself loads up to the minute I went under to be honest with you but I am happy I went ahead with it and didnt let my doubts and worried cloud what I really wanted. At the end of the day only you know what you want! x

Thank you for all your replies girlies, really appreciate it! I was really set on having Mr Adamo, and I really liked him. If I go to another surgeon I might not be able to get an operation date as soon as my already booked one. I am certain I want it done, I’m just scared about recovery – I have been waiting so long to go travelling, I don’t want to delay it any longer. He said I could have 375cc overs, and I’ve heard with overs they heal quicker…oh I don’t know what to do! But I have 7 days to decide!!! xx

Im2 week post op and I feel fine. I’m going on holiday next week so don’t see why you can’t do all you want after 7 week

After you 6 week post op check they should give you the go ahead to wear normal bras etc so by 7 weeks you should be totally normal! Personally I’ve felt normal throughout since I woke up, just not able to move as freely or lift stuff but in myself feel fine! Its worth asking if you can see another surgeon or if not ask to see him again and just explain that you’ve given it some thought and still want it done and see how another consultation goes! Good luck!! x

In a honesty chic, rushing through a process because you have other huge commitments happening doesn’t sound great, I rushed through mine after years of wanting it, and although I’m happier I have boobs, the complications I have had made both me and my other half regret the decision. If you go through anything like I have while away, it could become serious, and would you really want to risk yourself?
I know there’s so many girls on here that sail through perfectly, and you more then likely will too, but I have seen some girls struggle as they aren’t near their clinic (one girl moved to Spain and got a confirmation of a rupture at eight months post op, and has had a really hard time of what to do)
I’m not trying to put you off, only offering how I see it xx

in all fairness tho anything can happen from the day we have it done for the rest of our lives we have them in, you only live once and if you do have any problems you’ll just have to be ready to come back. i say enjoy your boobs and enjoy your travelling cos you might not be here tomorrow 🙂

umm i agree with some of the ladies here ,I would not rush your recovery .I have seen loads of girls pushing it with healing and having complications as a result of it .One had a burst blood Vessel in her boob and had to have a reop and other had displacement with one of her boobs .Not saying anyone will have that happen to them But it was because they were doing too much when supposed to be healing up .

You cant expose your scars in the sunlight for 3 months i was told by my surgeon And flying to soon after surgery you can develop Risk of DVT .

I suppose its good to have a care free a CAREFREE ATTITUDE but just because you feel better in your self does not mean the body is complete healed in the inside .I think he said you may not be ready for it as you would not have time to recovery ,Its good that the surgeon does care i feel .There is so many cow boy surgeons around who would just take your money and say no more .

Everyone should follow their SURGEONS instructions to their word when it comes to healing and not pushing your self to much .Its scars me as i have seen the other side of ladies who had surgery and had to wait months for a re op and been in a lot of pain and it could had be afforded if they follow the surgeon instruction to the book with healing .

    Just saying

Well I can fly 2 WEEKS after my op!! I’ll be 3 WEEKS post op when I fly, and did I say I was gonna expose my scars to the sun?? Hmm I think not so take your ATTITUDE elsewhere!

Also there is no facts to suggest flying causes any harm, people go abroad for surgery all the time and fly straight away!!

She said she was going traveling , So flying would be in the question .I’m am aloud to view a voice on here like all you girls and if you take things the wrong way its up to you .
