I know you have to take piercings out, but could you put a plastic one in? I first read that you have to take piercings out because of the metal but then i read you cant even have any tongue piercing in because of the tube in your mouth. Does anyone know if you could wear a plastic one or not?x

HI Emma, most will NOT allow a plastic bar, the reason you need remove piercings is they heat up during surgery, this means metal will burn you and plastic can melt, the only piercing that would be safe to use is implant grade titanium which is usually for dermals only. After 5months the Fistula, or channel for your piercing sits in should have started to form so if you take it out mins before you down and put it back in right after it shouldn’t close. Hope that helps x

I had my BA yesterday, and they said to me there I could of put a plastic one in and it would be fine.
I took mine out at 12 when I went down and I was back in my room by 2 and it went in fine. Normally it’s about 3-5 hours it would have to be out not to go back in xxx
