Very nervous! Need some support

I am booked in for breast augmentation with Dr. Andrea in Preston. I am getting 300cc unders

I am very nervous about the whole experience especially the anaesthetic. Does anyone know if Dr Andrea uses local or general? Would much prefer local!

Your post has just made me panic, I deffinately want to be fully asleep when Im having mine done, i didnt think this was an option, is general where your fully under?!!

i believe at mya you can opt for full sedation or what they call a twilight sedation. the latter i believe is more like a local, but you aren’t really aware of what is going on. i believe certain surgeons might offer the twilight, but not all. anyone is more than welcome to correct me if i am wrong.

I’m due to have surgery in 5 days, and the sedation is the only thing that has me worried!!

Don’t worry ladies, you are completely asleep for the op. I was with MYA and was not offered the option of twilight so assume it is not standard practice for them. Xx

Honestly don’t be nervous about the anaesthetic. That was my fear but it was the best thing I’ve ever experienced. It just makes you feel drunk and makes your nose itch. They add in bit by bit like glasses of wine! And then you’re out for the count and awake before you know it. I got home yesterday after a days care at my hospital having my breast op.
They will never ever ever use local, always general. You have nothing to worry about and it stays in your system for hourssssss. I didn’t need painkillers until 10pm that evening and I got out of surgery at 11am. Just sleep and rest. Preferably sleeping at a 45 degree angle. You’ll be fine.
And if you feel pulling and burning. It’s normal. You’ll feel bruised and very achy but it lasts for 4-5 days apparently. I’m say 3 I think and I’m getting better. If you’re having drains, good bloody luck!!

It’s not that bad, any of it. I had my op yesterday at 10am (at Transform with Paul Clarke). I was quite sick after the anaesthetic but once I was sick I felt loads better. The pain is really not bad at all, a bit tight and achy, I didn’t have any pain meds till 9pm last night and just had 1 co codamol. And just had 2 paracetamol this morning. Even the drains weren’t bad. It feels a bit weird but not painful at all. You’ll be fine 🙂 X
